I.E.D.'s in American Cities?

"A man is under arrest in Washington after an improvised explosive device, a rifle and some ammunition were allegedly found in his jeep, Capitol Police said Friday."

"The man stopped to ask police for directions near the Capitol building at about 11 a.m. EDT Friday, at the intersection of 2nd and Independence Avenue Southeast, according to Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider."

re: bad guy asks police for directions?
It's tempting to comment on this by saying that somebody must have had to work overtime to come up with this one. The official report is that this unbelievably incompetent bungling bad guy with the I.E.D. "stopped to ask the police for directions near the capitol building". Interesting to note how such a 'lucky break' could readily be used to validate the claimed need for further domestic surveillance and control measures in American cities, i.e. advancing the homeland police state...to keep everybody safe of course.
Just noticing. Compare this posted article/comment from a few months back which 'coincidentally' is calling for that very thing:
I.E.D.'s DHS and FBI (5-26-08) DHS: States must develop I.E.D. plan
quote from comment: "Wonder if we can get this straight. A classified (secret) strategy approved by Bush to "detect and deter" the domestic threat of I.E.D.'s, which calls for a completed plan that would arrange for "specific training, prevention, and response duties to several federal agencies, including the FBI and DHS."
