U.N. Gets Rolling on Copenhagen Accord, Forms 'Global' Finance Panel

UNITED NATIONS -- The United Nations moved today to implement a key component of the Copenhagen Accord, announcing the launch of a high-level panel to design and oversee a $100 billion annual fund for climate mitigation and adaptation financing in poor countries.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told reporters the new body "will look at how to jump-start the mobilization of new and innovative resources to reach $100 billion annually by 2020." Two prime ministers -- Great Britain's Gordon Brown and Ethiopia's Meles Zenawi -- will lead the panel, whose representation will be divided equally between developed and developing nations' governments.

"Funding would include both public and private sources," Ban said.

US government plans new climate service

WASHINGTON — US President Barack Obama's administration announced plans Monday for a new office handling climate change, aiming to help businesses chart future plans as the nation shifts to a greener economy.

The first practical effect was the creation of a website, http://www.climate.gov/, which came online Monday and brings together government resources on climate change for business, scholars and the general public.

The Climate Service would bring together resources now spread throughout the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, an agency that falls under the Commerce Department. It will also have six regional offices across the country.

Locke said he expected that the Climate Service would be running before the start of the 2011 fiscal year. He said the administration would first consult with Congress, although he did not believe any new legislation was needed.

The Indian government has established its own body to monitor the effects of global warming because it “cannot rely” on the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the group headed by its own leading scientist Dr R.K Pachauri.

He announced the Indian government will established a separate National Institute of Himalayan Glaciology to monitor the effects of climate change on the world’s ‘third ice cap’, and an ‘Indian IPCC’ to use ‘climate science’ to assess the impact of global warming throughout the country.

“There is a fine line between climate science and climate evangelism. I am for climate science. I think people misused [the] IPCC report, [the] IPCC doesn’t do the original research which is one of the weaknesses… they just take published literature and then they derive assessments, so we had goof-ups on Amazon forest, glaciers, snow peaks.

“I respect the IPCC but India is a very large country and cannot depend only on [the] IPCC and so we have launched the Indian Network on Comprehensive Climate Change Assessment (INCCA),” he said.

Climate scientist James Hansen hopes summit will fail

A leading scientist acclaimed as the grandfather of global warming has denounced the Copenhagen summit on climate change next week as a farce.

He decries the cap and trade system envisaged by governments trying to “seal the deal” at Copenhagen as ineffective in stemming carbon emissions. Under such systems, governments set limits on overall emissions and polluters trade quotas among themselves.

James Hansen, the director of Nasa’s Goddard Insitute for Space Studies, told The Times that he planned to boycott the UN conference because it was seeking a counter-productive agreement to limit emissions through a “cap and trade” system.

“We are going to have to move beyond fossil fuels at some point. Why continue to stretch it out longer?” he said. “The only way we can do that is by putting a price on carbon emissions. The business community and the public need to understand that there will be a gradually increasing price on carbon emissions.”

He proposes that the “carbon tax” start at the equivalent of about $1 per gallon of petrol but rise in future years. The tax revenues should be returned directly to the public in the form a dividend, he said.

People will need to turn vegetarian if the world is to conquer climate change, according to a leading authority on global warming.

In an interview with The Times, Lord Stern of Brentford said: “Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world’s resources. A vegetarian diet is better.”

Last month, 8-'09, Ban Ki-moon said that the upcoming Copenhagen world conference in December on so-called climate change is essentially the last chance for the nations of the earth to "seal a deal..[to]..secure the future of our planet"...before the earth basically implodes. [note to earth: only three months left now]

Just how urgent is it? Well, if you will believe the "six powerful voices" in this ridiculously contrived little propaganda video, then we are in a heap of trouble...islands will be submerged, the arctic will vanish, forests and farm lands? ...gone, those nasty cars?....they will choke us, and, oh yes, the oceans will drown us. The world is out of time, and all this is certain to happen, they say:

As political leaders aim for a momentous climate change conference in Copenhagen in December, religious leaders are rolling up their sleeves as well.

This month, Muslim, Catholic, Hindu and Sikh leaders all pledged to build climate change plans for their adherents. Jewish leaders have also promised to build a seven-year climate change plan.

The world religions initiative is being organized by the Alliance of Religions and Conservation, a UK-based organization founded 14 years ago by Prince Philip.

Earlier this month, Pope Benedict XVI firmly placed ecology and the environment into the mainstream of Catholic concerns in a new encyclical. The pope argued, much as Jewish leaders do, that the Earth was given to human beings to preserve and protect. He singled out fossil-fuel-guzzling countries for criticism, both for their deleterious effect on climate change and for the social inequality he said they engender.

The Alliance of Religions and Conservation is organizing five- to nine-year plans from the 11 major religions of the world which will be presented at Windsor Castle in November, ahead of the Copenhagen conference.

The alliance was founded to harness the potential of the world's religions. Taken together, they hold sway over vast numbers of people around the world. The potential for reaching out and changing the habits of ordinary individuals is tremendous, the organization believes.

From a materialistic perspective, the world's religions own many profitable temples, tracts of land and other assets, which, if greened, would be beneficial in and of themselves.

So called climate change, once again, is about nothing more than controlling every person on this planet, as well as every square inch of the planet itself, through the guise of environmentalism. A massive power grab, in other words, by powerful globalists, to subdue absolutely everything unto themselves through a plethora of new 'green' regulations touching every activity on earth, which we are told, are necessary to "save the planet".

As all the world is to be forced to submit to the control of these globalists, the unrelenting climate change propaganda being used to achieve that end will be virtually impossible for anyone to avoid. As seen here, part of the plan is to use the world's religions for the purpose of indoctrinating the masses, because, to quote the above article, they "hold sway over vast numbers of people around the world". Not only that, but there are also "many profitable....tracts of land and other assets" which, as part of the all-encompassing agenda, must also be "harnessed" for the use of the global system.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced on Tuesday that U.S. governors will be joining him as co-hosts of a global summit on climate change.

The Governors' Global Climate Summit will be held in Los Angeles on Nov. 18-19 to discuss collaborative action across the globe in the fight against climate change, Schwarzenegger said.

"This international summit will bring together world leaders to develop creative, collaborative actions to advance the global climate agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that will be negotiated in Poland in December and in Copenhagen next year," the governor said.

At the close of the summit, world leaders will sign a joint declaration agreeing to pursue collaborative action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create opportunities to grow green economies, he said.

What is the truth about so-called 'climate change'?

It's fairly simple really. Take any of the reports or news items on the subject, and the proposed 'solutions' will be found to be, in every case, the common denominator. Although the phrases used may be worded somewhat differently, in every case the so-called solution is essentially the exact same thing. For example, from the article above:

• new global deal
• radical, transformative change
• international collaboration
• strong international agreement

Translated, it means global governance. Using a fabricated crisis as an excuse to commandeer the governments and all of the world's industry and then replacing them with a draconian micromanaged global system.
