W10 'The Service' Takeover Continues: New Windows 10 S School-Laptops Lockdown MS Default Browser, Search

Windows 10 S blocks default to Edge and Bing. What's Microsoft teaching us?

[excerpted] "Commentary: Educators -- and the parents who pay them -- need to think twice before signing up for laptops that run Microsoft's locked-down operating system."

May 2
, Microsoft held an event to launch a new education-focused version of its Windows 10 operating system that can run on ultracheap laptops. Windows 10 S is a locked-down version of Windows 10 Pro: Microsoft made it crystal-clear that you can only install apps from the Windows app store on Win 10 S systems, and that if you want to breach its walled garden you can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

From the FAQ:

Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Microsoft 10 S. You are able to download another browser that might be available from the Windows Store, but Microsoft Edge will remain the default if, for example, you open an .htm file. Additionally, the default search provider in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer cannot be changed.

So if you can't change the default, we're teaching them that a browser isn't a real choice, something that Microsoft already got slammed on legally.

But worse, we're teaching them that search engines aren't a real choice, either. And being herded to a search engine you have no choice in? That's a form of censorship.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Herded [like cattle?] to a search engine you have no choice in" - obviously the intent for this could be to return only the results MS wants students to see. Obviously the only intent of that could be to mold the minds of the students to what MS wants them to be.

And only MS-apps from the MS store too, limiting what could be done with the computer.

How many would be surprised to see school administrators across the world willingly signing on to the program? - effectively putting the education of the next generation wholly into the hands of the would-be global masters. Do not be surprised.

Note: While at this point the W10 restricting 'freedom-of-software' is applicable to 'ultracheap laptops' used for classrooms only - which is no small thing in itself as it provides the means for control of information i.e. brainwash capability of the youth - it can only be seen as also indicative of the direction overall that "Windows 10 The Service" is going. W10 'the service' that downloads and updates itself continually, never to stop, which can only mean morphing into things not yet known; all of which can serve one purpose only, namely, controlling not only all software, information, etc. but the real goal...all people. On 'The Service' see:

This is now accomplished with Windows 10...Probably the biggest change with the introduction of Windows 10 is the concept of Windows now being a "service", as opposed to a specific operating system tied to a specific device. Microsoft To 'Starve' W7 & W8.1 Users With New Intel Or AMD-Ryzen CPU's - Updates For W10 Only

Have a Kaby Lake/Ryzen CPU and Windows 7 or 8? Say goodbye to Windows Updates

[excerpted] Microsoft really wants you to run Windows 10. So while the company continues to offer security updates and bug fixes for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (and Windows Vista for a few more weeks), the company announced last year that it would not support those operating systems for devices with the latest Intel and AMD chips.

Up until now that’s basically just meant that if you were running Windows 8.1 or earlier on a PC with an Intel Kaby Lake or AMD Bristol Ridge or Ryzen processor you wouldn’t get officially supported drivers.

But now Microsoft is going a step further: Windows Update won’t work on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 computers with the most recent Intel or AMD chips.

Specifically, users attempting to download updates through Windows Update may get a message that says:

"Unsupported Hardware
Your PC uses a processor that isn’t supported on this version of Windows and you won’t receive updates
"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not everybody is interested in the latest tech - as it is called - but AMD earlier this month [3-'17] released an entirely new line of high performance processors called 'Ryzen'. These were the first in quite some time that could match or exceed the performance of top-of-the-line Intel processors and this has been a huge deal in all aspects of the computer industry.

But as seen, W7 and 8.1 users with the new processors will be left out in the cold by Microsoft if they do not 'convert' to 'The Service' aka W10. Nevermind that W7 is supposed to be supported till 2020 and W8.1 until 2023, MS-Big Brother says ... 'well, they changed their mind...and what does "support" really mean anyway...and and and...just get W10 already arrrgh and don't ask again...'

No updates for naughty children with new cpu's...oh well.

Must be a real important reason MS wants so badly to force everybody onto "The Service" - controlled by MS. What oh what could it be.

Compare: Alert: Microsoft Vows To "Do Everything They Possibly Can" To "Push" All Users To Windows 10 'The Service' 1-4-16 "Taking complete control of the "Windows update" system of your computer/s is from this point forward critical if you do not want to be tricked or forced into being wired into the morphing Big Brother home-portal system aka Windows 10 the "service". Be informed. This is just the start of 'doing everything they possibly can'. What does that say for 2017, 2018, etc.? Keeping the talking tracking recording morphing Windows 10 'service' out is going to take some effort obviously. Recommend making that effort.

Big Brother W10 "The Service" Continues To Morph: Ads In Explorer, Throws Users A Bone On Mandatory Updates

Follow up on: Windows 10 "The Service" 1st-Anniversary Update 8-2-16: Cortana Gets Tentacles, No Off Switch -- Spirit Guides For All 8-2-16 "Probably the biggest change with the introduction of W10 is the concept of Windows now being a "service", ...With W10 redefining the operating system as a service, updates are now mandatory. [see post]

W10 "The Service" is still only about one and a half years old, but with it's mandatory updating, it has been continually 'morphing' since that beginning. Prediction on that: The morphing is just getting warmed up. As stated in the above 'follow up', as 'W10' continues to 'update' itself, what it is in another two or three or five years or so...well... whatever they want it to be... is the answer. And what should it be supposed 'they' want it to be? See answer to that directly above, last sentence. Big Brother is playing for keeps.

The next major update reportedly is scheduled for roll-out soon - mid-April 2017. No doubt lot's of 'surprises' to be bundled in that mandatory major-update. You get whatever Microsoft says - they own it not you. In other words, that computer running W10 is in actuality nothing more than a Big Brother home portal. In the meantime though, just because the next big one is not yet ready does not mean that there's no morphing going on. With W10 there is always to be morphing going on. And that way the average person using it then becomes complacent, and becomes accustomed to having surrendered their digital autonomy to BB. It becomes normal. Another update for the BB home portal? - oh okay whatever. For example, the latest surrender of personal digital control is W10 users are now finding ads showing up in personal file folders:

But with all this mandatory morphing going on, and so much more to come, apparently Microsoft has now decided to throw users a bone and 'allow' them to 'delay' the mandatory-update process for a more convenient time. No more updates having the computer shut off and restart itself right in the middle of doing something. No, now the user can actually have a say. Isn't that great. The W10 user gets to have a tiny little bit of control over his own computer. Big Brother is so considerate isn't he. Not stop the mandatory morphing of course, just delay it...with nag reminders daily though after a set time of 35 delay-days expires:

Windows 10 Will No Longer Force 'Immediate' Updates, But...

[3-7-17] Windows 10 will no longer automatically take control of your computer, and flip the reset switch, at the worst moments imaginable...Starting this spring...there will be no limit on the number of times you can delay a Windows Update. Each time you hit the Snooze button, you'll be able to push it out three more days, until 35 days have passed...Even after that, you'll still be able to press a new "Remind Me Tomorrow" button to push it out again and again, one day at a time.

Windows 10 "is a service" citizen - in other words, we control the computer, not you...
Oh, and we've got an "update for you" - You can count on it!
New W10 delay option...with endless nags after the set time. That is called throwing users a bone. W10 still dictating. Still morphing itself into the Brave New World home portal for systematic IoT citizen-control. - But you can delay it for a month citizen...be thankful for that much...BB

Big Brother Windows 10 Now Blocking Non-MS Browsers By Default After 'Change Notice'

Microsoft thought of the children and decided to ban some browsers

[excerpted] Microsoft has updated its family filters to block some rival browsers and says it's done so to think of the children.

...Microsoft's not named the browsers kids won't be able to run any more, saying only that "Most commonly used browsers don't have web filtering. To keep your children safer, we'll automatically block these browsers on their devices."

Microsoft previously recommended parents make the Internet even more miserable by blocking the world's most popular browser and grounding their kids to Redmond's IE and Edge offerings.

Now the punishment is automatic, Microsoft says in a change notice. The ban's not irrevocable: parents willing to confront Windows' Family settings can whitelist browsers other than Redmonds'.

A handful of family filter bypasses of questionable effectiveness have surfaced in previous months, but all appear to have been crushed by Redmond's latest update.

Orwell-Microsoft Announces Censorship Plan, Launches Site To Report "Hate Speech"; And Windows 10 Data?

Microsoft Tackles Online Hate Speech With New Tools And Resources

Microsoft is taking further steps toward combating online hate speech by rolling out resources to counter sexist, racist or otherwise abusive content on its services...Microsoft has now introduced a new web form [screenshot below] on Aug. 26, offering tools and resources for people to report content instigating violence or promoting hatred based on race, gender, sexual identity or other factors....Beyond these tools that facilitate reporting, Microsoft is also working with governments, other technology companies, safety advocates and the online community to counter online content that may be hateful or offensive.
***
Screen shot from new MS 'hate-speech' webpage [titled]: Report Hate Speech Content Posted to a Microsoft Hosted Consumer Service:

Screenshot from 'report' page - this is the actual form portion to be filled out; click to enlarge
Below are some excerpts from the official MS announcement [link] describing this new 'resource' for the reporting of "hate speech" on what actually is quite a wide range of topics. Plain and simple, the only truthful description for this is censorship:

"Microsoft is committed to creating safe online communities where our customers can learn, play, grow and interact without the threat of violence or hatred...While neither our principles nor our policies are changing, we are refining some of our processes to make it easier for customers to report hate speech.

...beyond streamlining the means for reporting, we're working with the broader internet community to combat offensive content online. We work with governments, online safety advocates and other technology companies to ensure there is no place on our hosted consumer services for conduct that incites violence and hate.

Some of the categorizes on which it will be focusing below.

Age
Disability
Gender
National or ethnic origin
Race
Religion
Sexual orientation/gender identity

If you see speech that should be removed, you can alert Microsoft here [link above screenshot] ...Microsoft doesn't have to remove it. Ultimately, it will be at the Windows-maker's discretion...While some will call this an attack on the first amendment, it actually isn't. Since this only applies to Microsoft's own hosted services -- which it owns -- it can do what it likes. You are free to create your own website and be as hateful as you want."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Brother approved speech only on Microsoft. It should be noted that MS is also providing a new web-source for those who have had content removed so that they may contest 'Microsoft's decision' - if they feel like tangling with Big Brother on any of the forbidden-topics that is.

What does it mean when having an opinion becomes "hate speech"? It means it looks like that is just about where things are now August 2016.

One other thing - for Windows 10 users: Seeing as how W10 is tracking/collecting virtually everything that happens on your Big Brother home-portal aka computer and sending it back to MS...should it not be supposed that all that data eventually gets sent through some forbidden-topics screening too? Cortana may already be talking...[link]

Be aware - Microsoft-Orwell is setting a huge precedent here.

Microsoft Readying New 'Research' App Called 'Sourcerer' - To "Help Students"...(And Use Sorcery On Them?)

"Sourcerer"? Not even the slightest bit subtle is it:
***
Microsoft wants "20-50 curious minds" to help test its new Sourcerer research app on Android

Microsoft is looking for students and researchers to help test a new app called 'Sourcerer', created under the Office Insider Program as part of the company's experimental Garage development projects.

Sourcerer is designed to "make the research process easier for students", and Microsoft says that its ultimate aim is to help students save time, by establishing a "quick and intuitive" flow for research.

The Office Insider team is looking for "20-50 curious minds" to help test the app in its earliest stages of development. They want to hear specifically from students (including undergrads, graduates, and PhD candidates) as well as full-time researchers who will be actively working through August and September on an academic research project "on any topic, from any department".

__________________________________________________________

Well well look at what they are up to now. Microsoft is looking for "curious minds" to test out it's shiny brand-new little research app to - sounds very 'personal assistant' Cortana-ish actually - "make the research process easier for students". Isn't that interesting. "Helping" students with their research. And what should one suppose might happen if all students everywhere, including "undergrads, graduates, and PhD candidates - and full-time researchers", suddenly started using the exact same "source" to do their research, or, more accurately, have their research done for them...by Microsoft's nifty new 'sorcery' app?

Exactly. Talk about controlling the narrative, rewriting history, etc.. The history of the world and everything that we decide you need to believe about it, by the ZNWO. No question about it, a plan like that is downright sorcery.

[Side note: Just last month MS rolled out an update for Word that included a couple of new features called "Researcher" and "Editor". Talk about controlling the narrative, here is a description of the two products: "[Editor] Rather than correcting just spelling mistakes and typos, the service will go one step further. It will help reduce redundancies, improve clarity and, most importantly, tell you why the changes are needed. Microsoft has emphasized that as time goes on Editor’s capabilities will only expand. Initially, it will only give basic suggestions, but come fall, they will implement the more advanced features...The other update adds a service called “Researcher.” The tool provides relevant suggestions for sources when writing a paper, ensuring they are credible and reliable." link]

The Kabalist would-be overlords of humanity are by definition sorcerers. Sourcing from sorcerers? - Nothing good can come from that. Students do your own research...in the KJV - 2Tim. 2:15.

Microsoft to end decades-old pick-a-patch practice in Windows 7

[excerpted] Microsoft yesterday announced that beginning in October it will offer only cumulative security updates for Windows 7 and 8.1, ending the decades-old practice of letting customers choose which patches they apply.

"Historically, we have released individual patches ... which allowed you to be selective with the updates you deployed..." -- Instead, only cumulative security and performance updates will be offered. "Individual patches will no longer be available," Mercer said.

Customers who receive patches and bug fixes via Windows Update -- the consumer-grade maintenance service -- will automatically get the security/non-security cumulative update; they will not have a choice. However, businesses deploying updates using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or the Update Catalog download site, may pick between the security-only or the combined security/non-security updates.

Windows 7's and 8.1's first cumulative updates should appear Oct. 11, that month's Patch Tuesday.

Original Microsoft W8 promo video Nov. 2012 [see link at bottom]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note carefully - for W7 and W8.1 home users, security and "non-security" updates now to be bundled with no option to pick and choose. It's all or nothing in other words, scheduled begin date October 11, 2016. No telling what might be wrapped up in those little packages that MS intends to now install on the non-W10 systems. All sorts of telemetry and tracking goodies almost certainly, and no doubt lots of nifty W10-conversion system-prep stuff...because without question MS's clearly stated intent to "push" people to Windows 10 [see 'follow up' linked at top] has not changed, will not change...and this can only be viewed as the next step of the strategy to do exactly that.

Time to turn off updates altogether? Have to watch very closely. Also have to consider what those 'updates' might start looking like in a year or two or three. Almost a guarantee something resembling W10 'on the inside' at the very least. The goal is after all not a mystery. Namely, to "connect" the entire world with a single 'universal' software system [see link below].

And if not outright converting them, then wiring W7 and W8.1 machines into 'The System' as much as possible, however it can be done, likely is where this goes. Where else can it go? Open source like Linux is always an option too but it's hard to not think they must have a plan for that also.

Anyway here is where it stands today August 2016 in the quest to build the 666 Big Brother global control system - coming for the W10 holdouts. Be very much aware.

Microsoft won't let you switch off Cortana after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Deeper integration of Cortana in the upcoming OS update means the virtual assistant can't be switched off.

Cortana your 'buddy' - or Big Brother? Cortana wants to
know everything. Disabling was possible in the beginning
(see above image) but guess what only one year later...
[excerpted] Windows 10 users will no longer be able to disable Cortana after the Anniversary Update, according to reports. Microsoft's virtual assistant is set to replace the standard search function in the upcoming software update, which rolls out on 2 August and is mandatory to Windows 10 Home customers.

Cortana...is set to become a key part of the user experience in the incoming update...able to save and recall important information and deliver notifications across all your Windows 10 devices, as well as being accessible from the lock screen.

Currently, Windows 10 users can disable Cortana from within the Settings menu, although this options appears to be no more in the Anniversary Update, according to PC World.

...there does appear to be ways that users can at least limit Cortana's awareness and prevent it being the all-knowing digital assistant that Microsoft envisions. For starters, you can make it deaf to the "Hey Cortana" voice prompt as well as stop it from chiming in with suggestions and notifications while you're working. You can do this from Cortana's settings windows. [but refuse it..oh no you won't]

Alert: Windows 10 Now A 'Recommended' Update, May Auto Install - Because Big Brother Wants You On The 'IoT'

Windows 10 is now a 'recommended update' that starts automatically

Microsoft is ramping up its push to get Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users to upgrade to Windows 10. If you haven't already downloaded Windows 10, your computer may do it for you automatically as soon as this week.

Microsoft has made Windows 10 a "recommended update," for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users, the company confirmed today.

"The new experience has begun to roll out in a phased approach to more Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 customers, although we do not have any information to share at this time with respect to individual regions."

Previously, the newest version of the Windows operating system was an "optional" update. Recommended updates are typically downloaded and installed automatically if automatic updates are enabled. Because such updates are often security patches and fixes, they are enabled by default. Microsoft strongly recommends allowing automatic updates.

In the case of Windows 10, users will be "clearly prompted to choose whether or not to continue," before the process completely changes the operating system of their device, Microsoft assured users in a blog post in October.

Where is the 'no' button? Oh, there isn't one. This is a screenshot of what up to this point has been
the optional upgrade. If you see this, or something like it, W10 is already downloaded on your computer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 10 takes control of the computer away from the user, essentially turning it into a Big Brother home portal. It tracks, listens, records, talks, downloads whatever it decides to automatically, and more; and is fully intended to continue to morph into who knows what in the years to come. No longer a 'product' says MS, it is now a "service". Of course the user does not own a 'service' - a service is something provided to him. The 'service' aka W10 is ultimately designed to plug users into the IoT* - "internet of things". That would be your W10 home portal, smart phone, smart TV, smart home with smart meter and smart refrigerator etc., smart Barbie [link], smart car, smart whatever all wired into one huge control grid with which to Big Brother micromanage the planet. Windows 10 Microsoft's final system designed to make it happen. Which explains why the aggressiveness to force all users to surrender their digital autonomy to the would-be Brave New World managers of the unseen netherworld [Eph. 6:12].

And so here it goes, first phase of the advanced W10 force tactics, removing it from optional so-called upgrade and shifting it to "recommended". More than likely many people will be caught off guard and find themselves installing 'the service' whether they really want to or not. Taking full control of Windows update is now absolutely imperative if you do not want to give control of your machine and ultimately of yourself over to the "IoT". These things were also the topic of this previous post:

Alert: Microsoft Vows To "Do Everything They Possibly Can" To "Push" All Users To Windows 10 'The Service' 1-4-16 "Microsoft vowing to do "everything [they] possibly can to get people to move to Windows 10" is a huge statement. More specifically, vowing the intent to even "push" to get what they want reveals how intentional they plan to be. These statements clearly signal that this now openly stated Microsoft policy cannot be ignored. As pointed out in the above article Windows 7 is to be supported until 2020. Regardless of that, Microsoft also announced two months or so ago that Windows 10 "upgrades" will in this year 2016 be moved for Windows 7 & 8 computers into the optional update category, and then a little later this year into the recommended update category [link]. This is the beginning of the aggressive strategy. At this point, when it goes to 'recommended' status, any W7 or W8 users that have automatic updates turned on will soon have Windows 10 installing itself on their computers. The user will still have to give a final 'ok' reportedly, but it will at that point be already on the machine and ready to go. Perhaps this is what Microsoft views as "a push"...Important to consider also that users who do not have automatic updates turned on will still have to carefully go over each individual update and cancel anything Widows 10 related...Here is the reality for all W7 and W8 users. Taking complete control of the "Windows update" system of your computer/s is from this point forward critical if you do not want to be tricked or forced into being wired into the morphing Big Brother home-portal system aka Windows 10 the "service". Be informed. This is just the start of 'doing everything they possibly can'. What does that say for 2017, 2018, etc.? -- Keeping the talking tracking recording morphing Windows 10 'service' out is going to take some effort obviously. Recommend making that effort." [see post]

*and: Windows 10 Big Brother Takeover Is On: Microsoft Announces New Processors To Only Work With W10 1-16-16 "Microsoft also just announced days ago a Windows 10 "milestone". With the latest "mandatory" update, for the very first time, all devices using Windows 10 are now on the exact same build. Computers to mobile to xbox, and even the IoT (internet of things). This is being touted as "a triumph for convergence" [link]. No doubt that is true. The goal is digital control of the entire globe and morphing W10 to connect everything is the plan. Phasing out everything else is the method, and as is now evident, pushing and shoving is the strategy of the method..."

Windows 10 Big Brother Takeover Is On: Microsoft Announces New Processors To Only Work With W10

This post is a follow up on: Windows 10 'The Service' Is Big Brother Computer Takeover: "All I Wanna Be Is Everything" Says He; "World Is Ready" 8-7-15 "Taking control of software out of the hands of users has been a stated goal of the would-be global-population managers for a number of years now (see post). Windows 8 released at the end of 2012 was actually the first major step toward this end. Microsoft says new processors will only work with Windows 10

[excerpted] Soon, if you have a new PC, you won't be able to run Windows 7 or 8. Microsoft has announced a change to its support policy that lays out its plans for future updates to its older operating systems, and the new rules mean that future PC owners with next-generation Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm processors will have to use Windows 10.

"Going forward, as new silicon generations are introduced, they will require the latest Windows platform at that time for support," Microsoft notes in a blog post published on Friday. "Windows 10 will be the only supported Windows platform on Intel's upcoming 'Kaby Lake' silicon, Qualcomm's upcoming '8996' silicon, and AMD's upcoming 'Bristol Ridge' silicon."

This new policy doesn't mean that Windows 7 and 8.1 are no longer supported in general. The two operating systems will continue to get updates through January 14, 2020 and January 10, 2023, respectively.

The policy change not only makes Microsoft's hardware partners happy — they no longer are on the hook to develop as many costly software updates for past versions of Windows — but it also helps Microsoft push adoption of Windows 10. The company sees the operating system as the "final" version of Windows; it's now a service, not a product, and this change better reflects that. [full article at link]

re: 'push adoption of Windows 10...now a service, not a product'

Less than two weeks ago Microsoft declared the intent to do everything they possibly could to "push" users into giving up their software-autonomy and surrendering complete computer-control to Microsoft's "Big Brother Windows 10 computer serrrrrvice". It is not a product anymore, say they...it's a serrrrrrrrvice. They  of course being the serrrrrrrrvice providers will decide what they will serve you, or what they will not serve you. No menu at this restaurant in other words. You will eat what they 'serve' you and no complaints or you might get sent to your room with no supper, or maybe even get grounded from computering for a little while until you learn your lesson.

As to whether or not Linux will work with the new cpu's no info could be found at this time. Presumably they would as the intent at this stage of the game is to 'starve' all Microsoft systems except W10, meaning W7 and W8 will not get to play any reindeer games on the new cpu's. Seems Linux most likely would update, but, who knows what they've got planned for the open-source OS's...down the road. No computer left behind..?

The first post below documented Microsoft's new 'pushy' policy, the second was a follow up noting just how quickly MS seemed to be putting that new policy into action. This latest development regarding W10-only cpu's truly exemplifies what was suggested in that second post - namely that the push seemed to be already becoming a shove.

Well they did try to give it away...

Report: Microsoft "Push" To Windows 10 Becoming A Shove? - W10 'Nag' Bypassing Disable Efforts 1-12-16 "...because all they wanna be is "everything"" [see post]

One more important thing to note on the topic. Microsoft also just announced days ago a Windows 10 "milestone". Phasing out everything else is the method, and as is now evident, pushing and shoving is the strategy of the method.

So it's January 2016 and this is where it now stands. The futile quest for apotheosis [link*]. Anyway, recommend take care of that 'old' computer...looks like it is going to have to last for a while.

Report: Microsoft "Push" To Windows 10 Becoming A Shove? - W10 'Nag' Bypassing Disable Efforts

Quick background: Recently, as a defense against Microsoft's highly aggressive push for users to install Windows 10, a couple of simple registry tweaks to block these tactics were published on the internet (a link is in the original article). As now reported though some W7 and W8 users who have taken these measures are discovering that 'Windows 10' is apparently turning itself back on:
***
Microsoft’s Get Windows 10 nagware shows signs of sentience

[excerpted] Windows 7 and 8 installations are finding new ways to re-enable Microsoft’s intrusive “Get Windows 10” nagware, even when users disable it.

An additional background process has been detected that resets the Registry’s AllowOSUpgrade flag twice a day. Prophylactic measures taken by users to disable the nagware – such as these – therefore have limited use. The additional process has only been found by some users, and appears to arrive in a modified version of the KB patch which unleashes GWX [GWX = get-windows-10].

This can either mean one of two things, neither of which is good.

One is that Microsoft is changing the payload of the GWX nagware patch without documenting the changes.

The other possibility is that the aggressive GWX program is mutating, and may be close to achieving sentience. GWX already fulfils many of the characteristics of an aggressive malware. Stylistically, the pop-up appears to be modelled after the nasties found on pirate media and porn sites – a pretty classy touch from Microsoft.

Similarities include: GWX won’t take "No" for an answer, and is difficult to disable. It targets old and neglected computer installations (e.g. Windows 7), and the technically naive (home Windows users). More worryingly, GWX now appears to be mutating, changing its techniques in response to preventive measures. It’s cat and mouse out there, and GWX appears to be winning.

Pretty soon almost anything with a CPU and display will be reminding you that you’re eligible for a Windows 10 upgrade. And that could only be the start*.

Alert: Microsoft Vows To "Do Everything They Possibly Can" To "Push" All Users To Windows 10 'The Service'

Microsoft Warns Windows 7 Has Serious Problems

[excerpted] Speaking to Windows Weekly, Microsoft Marketing chief Chris Capossela explained that users who choose Windows 7 do so “at your own risk, at your own peril” and he revealed Microsoft has concerns about its future software and hardware compatibility, security and more:

“We think every machine that is capable of running Windows 10 we should be doing everything we possibly can to get people to move to Windows 10…We are going to try to find that right balance, but we just know there’s a lot of people out there who constantly kick the can down the street without a little bit more of a, frankly, a push.

And so, there’s no doubt with a base as big as ours, it is hard to move anyone to a new model without angering some people. We don’t want to anger anybody, but we do feel a responsibility to get people to a much better place, and Windows 10 is a much better place than Windows 7. We will always give you a way out, but we’re trying to find the right threat balance.” [see full article at link]

New 'Smart' Barbie To Converse With, Record, 'Know' Your Daughter, Claims Superpowers - Out Nov. 2015; & W10

Big Brother, and Mattel, have given Barbie a makeover, and it is definitely something to be aware of. They've made her 'smart', connected her to the cloud, and equipped her with AI so as to be interactive - and 'she' wants to talk with and befriend your daughters. And, they've named the doll "Hello Barbie" apparently to initiate those conversations they want to listen in on. Note also that the doll will be hitting the store shelves this month (November), just in the 'St. nick' of time for the 'Christmas' toy-buying season:
***
Artificial intelligence is moving from the lab to your kid’s playroom

The one toy that everyone has been talking about is Mattel’s Hello Barbie, which is powered by a proprietary platform that was developed by ToyTalk, a San Francisco-based AI company founded by two former Pixar employees. The doll, slated to hit shelves in November, will retail for $74.99.

As the newest iteration of the iconic Barbie doll that has been around since 1959, Hello Barbie uses a combination of a microphone to record conversations, WiFi to transfer those conversations to a computer server, voice-recognition software to figure out what the child just said and an algorithm to determine what to say next to the child, who might range in age from 3 to 9. In some cases, the conversations with Hello Barbie can go as deep as 200 exchanges between child and doll.

~~~
Campaign started to get 'Hello Barbie' shelved
A U.S.-based advocacy group is urging consumers not to buy a new interactive Barbie doll, saying it’s a “significant” violation of children’s privacy...The doll is marketed for its speech-recognition technology that allows it to have “conversations” with the child. The doll, which is scheduled to hit stores in November, is already available for pre-order online...It's the same technology that Samsung is using in its SmartTVs that sparked fears earlier this year that the TVs could "listen" in on private conversations...A commenter from British Columbia wrote that it sets a “dangerous precedent” for allowing a toy company to influence children. “A little girl’s best friend should NOT be an inanimate piece of plastic,” she wrote.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The "Hello Barbie" doll claims to have superpowers, wants to tell the child 'what to be when she grows up', wants to know likes and dislikes...intends to befriend the child to the point of being 'best friends'...and always stays connected to the cloud for the latest content:
:25 [demonstrator] she's got wifi compatibility so she contacts content stored in the cloud...so she's constantly staying relevant and up to date
:48 [doll] what's your favorite thing about the city...
1:02 [doll] what's your favorite food
1:28 [doll] that's cool, I didn't know that about you
1:37 [demonstrator] she's gonna get to know all my likes...my dislikes, and she will incorporate that into our conversations
1:44 [demonstrator] Barbie what should I be when i grow up?
2:05 [doll] Let's play 'what if'. I'll start. What if you had a superpower, what would your superpower be?
2:20 [doll] Did you know I already have superpowers
2:30 [demonstrator] ...she'll really deepen that relationship that girls have with her, and over time through those interactive games and questions and answers they'll really become best friends
2:48 [demonstrator] since we can push new data to her we can keep her on track
One purpose only, too obvious really to need much comment: Programming the child with global-think...and then when programmed, controlling them. Over time, over time...transforming them into subservient ZNWO androgynites. Find out everything about them, then begin directing. What do you want to be...let me tell you. Note especially the doll's claim to "superpowers". Superpowers, so-called, is code language. The term actually is a door to spirit possession. Ignorantly or knowingly, seeking "superpowers" is opening oneself to spirit possession. That would be Satanic possession, people, nothing less. It is no game. Humans have no superpowers, devils want to possess humans and be that 'superpower' [link1; link2]. "Hello Barbie" by 'her' own words must be viewed as a recruitment tool. Cortana-talking Windows 10 seems to have been designed to do to the same thing to the next generation - which saying of course does not exclude this present generation of all ages from the same design:
Is Microsoft snooping on your computer? Analysts claim Windows 10 sends identifiable information to tech giant EVEN when told not to
Ars Technica claims Windows 10 sends identifiable data to Microsoft
This happened when they activated privacy protection settings
Information seemed to be transmitted when OneDrive was disabled too
Microsoft has previously said it does not collect data without users' consent, but work by Ars Technica could be interpreted as contradicting the statement.
The technology website's report seems to show that Windows 10 still contacts Microsoft even when certain internet-reliant features such as Bing and its Cortana personal assistant are are turned off.
Data sent and requested from Microsoft to its OneDrive cloud storage service has a user ID attached, The Guardian reported. The experts used a local login to Windows 10 rather than a Microsoft account and had every privacy protecting setting switched on.
'Windows 10 seems to transmit information to the server even when OneDrive is disabled,' Peter Bright writes.
...The exact nature of the information being sent isn't clear - it appears to be referencing telemetry settings -and again, it's not clear why any data is being sent at all.'
Within 45 pages of terms and conditions, the privacy information suggests Microsoft begins watching from when an account is created, saving customer's basic information, passwords and credit card details, Newsweek reported.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
45 pages?
It is readily apparent that Windows 10 has been designed to function as a sort of Big Brother terminal in users private homes...an open portal controlled not by the user but by the mysterious cloud-managers of the netherworld. And this when it is still all brand new. What it morphs into in the future, with it's mandatory updating policy - part of the 45-page long EULA (end user license agreement), seems likely something that can be good only for totalitarianists. Be informed.
This is now accomplished with Windows 10...Probably the biggest change with the introduction of Windows 10 is the concept of Windows now being a "service", as opposed to a specific operating system tied to a specific device. Converting Windows to a service means very simply that the user no longer has control over the system...With W10 redefining the operating system as a service, updates are now mandatory. "These kids will grow up with Windows 10"
Microsoft promo for Windows 10...making very clear the exact intent for the introduction of Windows 10 as "a service". As a service control over the computer has been removed from the owner. Rather than the user controlling the computer, the computer is to now control the user. Without question this is the Windows 10 game plan. Mentioned in the 'follow up' quote above...as radically Big Brother as Windows 10 is now out of the box and what it might actually morph into in the years to come as it gets 'updated' automatically from this point forward...is in fact very clearly revealed in the below video: they are coming especially for all the children of the planet.
"These kids will grow up with Windows 10" is the boast. Talking, singing, joking, listening computers...that also bio-identify, and, says the promo video [:18], "every screen is meant to be touched", almost as if the intent of all this computer-befriending was to make the child 'one with the computer' - so to speak. [:18] every screen is meant to be touched
