White House Sets New Limits on Junk Food Ads in Schools

Part of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative

The Obama administration laid out new restrictions on the marketing of junk food and sugary drinks in schools on Tuesday.

The new rules from the White House and the Department of Agriculture prohibit advertisements for unhealthy foods on school campuses during the school day, including sugary drinks that account for 90 percent of such ads in school. An ad for regular Coca-Cola, for example, would be banned from appearing on a scoreboard at a high school football game, though ads for Diet Coke and Dasani water, owned by the same company, would be allowed. Junk food ads like a Coca-Cola scoreboard would be phased out under the new rules and would not have to be replaced overnight.

Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsak will announce the new regulations at a White House event Tuesday. The rules come as part of the first lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign to fight childhood obesity. Industry heavyweights like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are backing the new regulations.

The rules will also include guidelines for establishing overall wellness policies in schools, inviting parents and the wider school community to help develop standards for nutrition and physical activity.

A third thing still needs to be noted here: Note that "parents and the wider school community" are to be invited to "help develop [some of the "wellness"] standards". This involves attendance at what are known as "facilitated meetings". At facilitated meetings the outcomes are predetermined. What the meetings accomplish though is to create community-management teams, so to speak. The agenda goes forth exactly as planned, but now the community people are themselves doing the groundwork. This is the actual strategy, designed to get the community actively involved in - and quoting now from the 'follow up' linked above - "implement[ing] the transformation of their city, town, or county into the global system through which they are to be controlled". By taking part in this "facilitated" process with it's predetermined global-agenda outcome, each participant essentially then becomes part of the 'network'. They are now, mostly totally unaware, helping 'the beast' to build his 'global kingdom'.

First Lady Expands Anti-Obesity Campaign to Museums

Michelle Obama has expanded her anti-obesity campaign to museums, enlisting them to offer “healthy food options,” and change their menus.

Mrs. Obama’s “Let’s Move!” initiative is now calling for museums, zoos, gardens, science and technology centers to “join the call to action,” to decrease obesity among children...The first lady is recruiting these institutions to join the “Let’s Move! Museums and Gardens” project because of their power to “influence real and sustained behavior change” on the eating habits of kids.

“With their impressive reach and great potential for impact, museums and gardens can launch community efforts to create a healthier generation using interactive exhibits, outdoor spaces, gardens and programs that encourage families to eat healthy foods and increase physical activity,” the program said.

So far, 624 institutions across the country have signed up.

Let’s Move! wants the museums to abide by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) nutrition standards, which include limiting “deep-fried entrée options to no more than one choice per day” and offering fruit or a “non-fried” vegetable as side dishes “instead of chips or a cookie.”

Other goals of Mrs. Obama’s initiative include recruiting 2,000 institutions in the first year and securing 200 million visits per year to the participating organizations.

(CNSNews.com) – First Lady Michelle Obama is encouraging local governments across America to become “Let’s Move!” cities and towns because local leaders are “uniquely positioned to champion healthy communities.”

First launched in 2010 but expanded this July, the initiative allows elected officials to sign up their locality as a “Let’s Move! City,” a “Let’s Move! Town” or a “Let's Move! County” and thus commit to various healthy eating goals.

Walmart, saying it was inspired by first lady Michelle Obama's campaign to fight childhood obesity, is stepping up to the plate, announcing on Thursday a five-year plan to lower salts, fats and sugars in thousands of its products, and dropping prices for healthy items.

Walmart sells more groceries than any other company in the U.S. and changes made by its suppliers could have a big impact on American's access to healthy food.

Michelle Obama says that this "groundbreaking" action plays an "integral role" in her 'anti-obesity' campaign. First Lady Enlists Faith Community to Take on Hunger, Obesity

In a conference call with interfaith groups and community leaders, Michelle Obama praised the current progress with the Let’s Move! initiative while enlisting religious leaders in a renewed effort to reduce and eliminate hunger and obesity in children. The new effort has been dubbed Let’s Move: Faith and Communities.

On the call were 10 groups, including the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, United Church of Christ's Heath Care Justice ministry and the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation's Capital.

She said the new Let's Move: Faith and Communities effort is meant to support what is already working and highlight those accomplishments. A virtual tool kit with tips and ideas is available to help groups expand their efforts under the umbrella of the Let’s Move! campaign.

There will be a Washington, D.C., kickoff event for the new faith initiative. Though the event has not yet been scheduled, the first lady invited all faith groups on the call to attend to share ideas for the new faith and community initiative, celebrate accomplishments and commit to new goals.

Already 50 groups have accepted the challenges, including First AME Church of Los Angeles, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Progressive National Baptist Convention.

The key operative phrase to understand here is "under the umbrella". Whose agenda takes priority when one or more organizations submit themselves to the directives of another? It is not a trick question. The organization that is gathering the others under it's 'umbrella' does so for one reason only - to utilize them in forwarding their own goals.

As here with over 50 groups having been signed up to now make the goals of 'Let's Move!' a priority in their own organizations. These groups will now be called to change their individual focus, the very thing that made them unique, and to instead concentrate on the common goal of M. Obama's new "faith and community initiative". Even though the 'kickoff event' has not taken place yet, they are already being asked to "share ideas" and to "commit to new goals".

Faith and community? The question that should be asked by any participant is..."Whose goal is this exactly, and where did it originate?"

The answer is: This is the one world government strategy to incorporate 'faith groups' and non-profits like the Girl Scouts [here] into the Agenda 21 model of community-based management - bringing them under the umbrella - so as to place them into the management network of the global system [here] .

San Francisco Bans The McDonalds Happy Meal

San Francisco has become the first major U.S. city to pass a law that cracks down on the popular practice of giving away free toys with unhealthy restaurant meals for children.

San Francisco's Board of Supervisors passed the law on Tuesday on a veto-proof 8-to-3 vote. It takes effect on December 1.The San Francisco law would allow toys to be given away with kids' meals that have less than 600 calories, contain fruits and vegetables, and include beverages without excessive fat or sugar.

"Our children are sick. Rates of obesity in San Francisco are disturbingly high, especially among children of color," said San Francisco Supervisor Eric Mar, who sponsored the measure.

"This is a challenge to the restaurant industry to think about children's health first and join the wide range of local restaurants that have already made this commitment," Mar said..

The Center for Science in the Public Interest [?] this summer threatened to sue McDonald's if it did not stop using Happy Meal toys to lure children into its restaurants. A lawyer for that group said it is on track to file the lawsuit in the next several weeks.

First lady asks restaurants to serve healthy foods
WASHINGTON – First lady Michelle Obama is prodding the nation's restaurants to add more healthy options to menus, label those items more prominently and market nutritious foods to kids.

Speaking to the National Restaurant Association on Monday, Mrs. Obama pleaded with restaurants small and large to take a little butter or cream out of their dishes, use low fat milk and provide apple slices or carrots as a default side dish on the kids' menu.

Mrs. Obama said that Americans are spending half their food dollars outside the home and eating a third of meals in restaurants. She asked the restaurants to rethink the food they offer and reformulate their menus to help combat childhood obesity.

"We have to do more, we have to go farther, and we need your help to lead this effort," she told the restaurateurs and executives.

While some would commend the effort to, for example, exchange 'greasy' french fires for carrot sticks, the reality of what this is about is something else entirely:

"Childhood obesity as an excuse creates numerous opportunities for globalists to get in the door and take control - in schools, in the health field, in food production, and more. In other words, this is communitarianism under construction. Another name for that is global dictatorship. Using 'childhood obesity', The NWO now has their foot in the door and is laying the groundwork for control of another industry. "We have to do more". No doubt that is exactly what will happen.

CNSNews.com) – At a ceremony at the White House on Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama announced the launch of the ‘Let’s Move’ campaign to end childhood obesity in the United States, an epidemic she said is costly and a threat to national security.

“A recent study put the health care cost of obesity-related diseases at $147 billion a year,” Mrs. Obama said. “This epidemic also impacts the nation’s security, as obesity is now one of the most common disqualifiers for military service.”

The ceremony, attended by many officials of President Barack Obama’s cabinet, followed the signing earlier in the day of a presidential memorandum establishing a task force to study the problem and make recommendations after 90 days.

Obama called for overhauling many federal laws and guidelines, including adding $10 billion over the next decade to “update” the Childhood Nutrition Act, which feeds 31 million children at school and would add funding to feed more children.

The First Lady said a broad coalition of groups interested in children’s health are coming together to form the Partnership for a Healthier America, which will use professional athletes, members of the media, and state and local dignitaries to promote the “Let’s Move” campaign and its goals around the country.

Michelle Obama on a recent cover of Vogue (March '09), flashing what many would identify clearly as a Satanic hand signal - the 'horned hand'. Who can say...simply noting it. Each can draw their own conclusions or perhaps none, but either way, you are aware of it. (Remember the nomination dress, the one that looked like a Black Widow Spider?)

Two more things: Note the title of the article. Does the M.O. hand signal have something to do with the boast of "the first lady the world's been waiting for"? Note also the very large print in the lower right corner. Is this a not-so-subtle, perhaps subliminal, claim to possession of "super powers"?
