Stephen is considered to be the first martyr of the Christian Church. Most bible students are familiar with the biblical account in the book of Acts chapters 6-7 describing his being dragged before the Jewish council [Acts 6:11-12], resulting in his being stoned to death for his testimony against the rulers of his own nation of Israel with regard to the Lord Jesus Christ [Acts 7:59-60]. Before that terrible act was carried out though, heaven was opened to Stephen's view and he saw the Lord Jesus Christ in glory. This was the first of three manifestations of the glorified Christ recorded in the New Testament [from heaven - post resurrection/ascension], as pointed out by A. C. Gaebelein in these few paragraphs excerpted from his commentary on the book of Acts (linked directly below), each one of the three foreshadowing a different aspect of his promised return: first, the rapture, second, the later revelation of Himself to the "remnant" of Israel during the tribulation, and third, the actual physical bodily return to the earth at the end of the tribulation:

Acts 7:55-56 'But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God'

Stephen had been accused of speaking against Moses and against God, also against the temple and the law [Acts 6:12-14]. These accusations he is asked to answer. What he declared before the council shows plainly that the accusations are utterly false.

Indeed his whole testimony as he rapidly speaks of past history in his great and divinely arranged retrospect, is a most powerful testimony to the nation as well as against the nation. Every word was true. The entire testimony was unimpeachable. Stiffnecked and uncircumcised, resisting the Holy Ghost, persecuting the prophets who prophesied of Christ and the murderers of the Just One [Acts 7:51-53]! This was their condition. With this the testimony of Stephen is ended; more than that the testimony to the nation is now to be closed. No longer is the offer to be made to Jerusalem.

The arrows of the truth of God carried by the power of God’s Spirit had cut to the heart and they gnashed on him with their teeth [Acts 7:54]. In their madness they were dumb. They did not find words to give vent to their burning hatred which Satan had kindled in their stubborn, unbelieving hearts. All they could do in their frenzy was to gnash with their teeth.

In the midst of this wicked crowd, no longer the council but a murderous mob, stood Stephen. Three things are said of him. He was full of the Holy Ghost; He looked steadfastly into heaven seeing there the Glory of God, He saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God [Acts 7:55].

A thought provoking little sermonette on the topic of living in the expectation of the imminent return of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the practical outworkings that this blessed hope should have in our daily lives. As the author mentions, this little 'sermonette' was written approximately fifty years after the initial sounding of the 'midnight cry' was first heard. The church had slumbered and fallen asleep through the long years of the so-called dark ages from AD 400 or so (Matt. 25:5); up to and until they finally gave way to the 'reformation period' with the call of Martin Luther who was to wrest Christendom from the iron grip of Rome and the Papacy, starting in the early 1500's. It was not until approximately the 1830's though that the Holy Ghost roused the church from her slumber as to the reality of the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for his 'bride' (Matt. 25:1-13). This is considered historically as the point when the "midnight cry" of the Bridegroom's coming first echoed throughout the Christian church worldwide. In retrospect we understand that this period was in fact the "midnight hour" of church history. The hour had come and the cry went forth across the land "to arise" and "go ye out to meet him." (Matt. 25:6-7) There was then much excitement, and these few paragraphs below give us a wonderful feel of what that time was like, and on up to the time when fifty years afterwards the author wrote this exhortation.

121 years later now and the warning cry has been heard by all who have ears to hear. The church is no longer in the midnight hour, but the night has passed giving way to a new period of church history, which is proving to be the approaching of the dawn with the first glimpse of the morning star. The dawn will pass quickly though ushering in all the events leading up to and surrounding the millennial 'day' of Christ. Judgment upon the world must come first, followed afterward by the establishment of the thousand year rule and reign of Christ.

But before the day comes the dawn. It is in the early morning at the dawning of the new day when the bright and morning star appears, the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 22:16), to take his own to be where he is, to his Father's house where there are many mansions (John 14:1-3). He, the bridegroom, will come for the 'wise virgins' whose lamps have not gone out but are still burning bright in that early morning scene of the coming glory to be revealed. Matt. 25:8-10; cf. 2 Peter 1:19;

Our Lord would have us "watch" as well as "wait" for His coming. Both imply spiritual activity. Waiting souls are certainly not sleeping; for waiting according to our Lord's mind must be with girded loins, diligence in His service, and lights burning, thus bearing clear testimony to Him (Acts 1:8) in the power of the Holy Spirit during the darkness of the night (Gal. 5:5).

St. Vincent's La Soufriere volcano ERUPTS as thousands of islanders flee 8km-high ash plume

The La Soufriere volcano on the eastern Caribbean island of  has erupted after more than 16,000 residents were evacuated by the local government, following increased volcanic activity. Dramatic footage shared online shows the volcano's enormous ash plumes, which have risen as high as 10 kilometers and travelled around six kilometers east from the island, according to the National Emergency Management Organisation.

SB 694 to Implement Agenda 2030 in Hawaii

URGENT: The Hawaii Senate unanimously passed SB 694 [link; see image below] on March 9. The bill is now being considered in the House.

Members of the Hawaii Senate are seeking to pass legislation to implement the United Nation’s totalitarian Agenda 2030 statewide.

Senate Bill No. 694 (SB 694), the “Hawaii State Planning Act,” is sponsored by 20 of the 25 members of the Hawaii Senate (80% of the chamber). It passed the Senate on March 9, 2021, and was sent to the House for consideration.

The bill follows Executive Order No. 18‑06, signed by Governor David Ige in 2018, which ordered all state agencies to work towards implementing Agenda 2030 by its target date. Additionally, the Hawaii Senate has previously sought to implement Agenda 2030, other introduced legislation references the program, and the UN has congratulated Hawaii for these efforts.

SB 694 makes the following declaration:

In pursuit of the State’s sustainability goals, and notwithstanding any law to the contrary, all state agencies, to the extent practicable, shall take action to assist the State in achieving the following sustainable development goals and indicators by 2030 unless otherwise indicated in this section[.]

The bill goes on to list each of Agenda 2030’s 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” and the 169 targets. They are slightly reworded to make them more specific to Hawaii, but the content of the goals and targets is unchanged.

Aiming to boost the slow pace of administering Covid-19 vaccinations, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said Monday that the state has turned to Starbucks for help streamlining logistics and setting a new goal to dole out 45,000 doses a day.

Starbucks has assigned 11 employees with expertise in labor and deployment, operations, and research and development to work full time on vaccine distribution in its home state, the company said, adding that the number of employees could change.

Microsoft, another Seattle area-based corporation, will also set up a site to perform 5,000 vaccinations a day, he said.

The Starbucks employees assigned to work on vaccine distribution will use the company's computer simulation modeling system to find ways to expedite inoculations, according to the state and the company. Starbucks and Washington hope the partnership will create an improved vaccine distribution network across the state's 39 counties and 29 tribal nations.

Reportedly no 'vacinations' are to be done at actual Starbucks stores. They are just providing their 'managerial expertise' to 'the cause'...as the story goes. As seen in the article though another corporate entity, Microsoft, is setting up an actual location on their property to inject 'the herd' [link] with the who-knows-what-it-is toxic-soup concoction called 'covid-vaccine'. Many other corporations nationwide are being co-opted - like Walmart for instance - which announced last month [12-'20] that Walmart stores and phamacies nationwide would become 'Community Vax-Centers' [see link below*].

As ongoing 'lockdowns' continue to force closures of non-corporate small-business nationwide and worldwide, the corporate world is now acquiring piece-by-piece total control of all facets of everything. 'Faith, if it hath not works, is dead' (James 2:17)

Faith is a heavenly plant, which will not grow in an impure soil.

He who before was under the power of some debasing corruption--as soon as faith is wrought, there is a sacred virtue coming from Christ, for the enervating and weakening of that sin [Rom. 6:6]. The woman who did but touch the hem of Christ's garment, felt virtue coming out of Him. The touch of faith has a healing power! Faith casts the devil out of the castle of the heart.

This is "the faith of God's elect" [Titus 1:1].
