It used to break off regularly while trying to bind to receptors in people's airways, which it would use to gain entry to the body, but is now more resilient, they say.

A genetic mutation which scientists around the world have been picking up on for months appears to have caused this spike to be less likely to snap, and also to force the coronaviruses to produce more of them to make itself more infectious.

As a result the virus appears to be approximately 10 times more infectious than it was when it first jumped to humans in China at the end of the year, scientists say.

The mutated version of the virus, dubbed G614 - a change from D614 - is a tiny change in its genetic make-up that scientists weren't sure what to make of when they found it. But by May research had found it had become the dominant strain being found in Covid-19 patients across the UK, US, Canada and Italy.

Floyd, who was black, died Monday after a white Minneapolis police officer responding to a call about a forgery pressed his knee onto his neck for at least eight minutes. The incident was captured on video.

And the more startling truth is that cholecalciferol aka Vitamin D is rat poison. Discussing the need to hire contact tracers and manage active cases, Ventura County Public Health Director Dr. Robert Levin said during a May 4 [5-4-20] press conference that people who live in homes where they could expose family members to COVID-19 would be moved into 'other kinds of housing' provided by the county.

The county walked back Levin's comments on Facebook, responding that they "are not going to remove anyone from their home," but that "If someone cannot isolate at their home because of their living situation we have alternative options available."

7 Midwestern governors announce their states will coordinate on reopening

A bipartisan group of governors of Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky announced Thursday that they will work in close coordination to reopen the Midwest regional economy in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The governors noted that their decision to work together "doesn't mean our economy will reopen all at once, or that every state will take the same steps at the same time. But close coordination will ensure we get this right."

On Monday, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said his state, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Rhode Island and Massachusetts each plan to name a public health official, an economic official and each governor's chief of staff to a regional working group that will begin work immediately to design a reopening plan.

Later that day, the West Coast states of California, Washington and Oregon also announced they were joining forces in a plan to begin incremental release of stay-at-home orders. The three states' governors will collaborate on their approach to getting back to business "in a safe, strategic, responsible way," as announced by California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Samples collected from the feline’s oral, nasal and rectal cavities tested positive for the virus, but it did not show any symptoms.

“The cat has not shown any signs of disease,” a spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said Tuesday.

Dallas County judge says troops will be on ‘medical mission’ inquiring about contact with coronavirus patients

A county judge says Texas National Guard troops will go door-to-door in Dallas neighborhoods to ask about coronavirus, as residents are under shelter-in-place orders to stay home during the outbreak.

According to NBC affiliate KXAN, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins claimed the troops would merely be conducting a “medical mission,” and not enforcing quarantine restrictions.
