[excerpted] Amazon has rolled out a whole-building version of its Alexa AI voice assistant for landlords, billing ‘Alexa for Residential’ as extending smart-home functionality to renters – tenants’ consent apparently not required.

The e-commerce giant announced Alexa for Residential on Thursday [9-3-20], describing it as a feature “that makes having an Alexa-enabled home accessible for anyone, regardless of whether they rent or own their home.” Tenants can link up their own Amazon account, but if they don't have one, no problem – they'll be placed on the building's system.

Landlords, Amazon explains, will have the option to provide “custom voice experiences for their residents,” which could easily translate to charging a higher rent for the ability to submit maintenance requests, reserve amenities like laundry or gym time, pay their rent, and so on using the AI device.

The company reassured potential users for whom this sounds like a techno-dystopian nightmare that landlords who sign up for the building-wide service won't be able to access data from individual tenants, and all voice recordings will be deleted on a daily basis.

Of course, Amazon has promised strict privacy controls before, only for it to emerge that ...‘deleted’ recordings were actually still lurking on Amazon's servers, and private recordings were being sent to strangers on the other side of the world. Alexa devices have also been hauled into court as evidence in criminal cases.

Amazon already has existing agreements with vacation properties via RedAwning.com and with hotels via Alexa for Hospitality. Another startup has placed the devices in senior living centers. Soon, it will be difficult to get away from the devices. Alexa for Residential is being debuted by a handful of companies in Annapolis, Maryland; Denver, Colorado; and parts of Florida.

The new powers also give police the right to “enter your home to carry out spot checks even if you don’t give them permission and they don’t have a warrant,” reports LockdownSkeptics.org.

Controls on buying have also been introduced, restricting citizens to purchases of no more than two of certain essential items, including dairy, meat, vegetables, fish and toilet paper.

As we highlighted earlier, immediately after the government announced the new draconian measures, police in their hundreds positioned themselves around residential tower blocks to ensure no one could leave.

People were told they must stay in the residence in which they slept the previous night for the next six weeks. Anyone who violates the new rules faces a fine of up to $1,652, an amount which is set to be increased.

A mutated version of the coronavirus that has gripped Europe and the West is more infectious because it doesn't break as often while inside the body, a study has found.

Researchers at The Scripps Research Institute in Florida say the 'spike protein' that the virus uses to attach to cells in the airways has adapted since January. It used to break off regularly while trying to bind to receptors in people's airways, which it would use to gain entry to the body, but is now more resilient, they say.

A genetic mutation which scientists around the world have been picking up on for months appears to have caused this spike to be less likely to snap, and also to force the coronaviruses to produce more of them to make itself more infectious.

As a result the virus appears to be approximately 10 times more infectious than it was when it first jumped to humans in China at the end of the year, scientists say.

The mutated version of the virus, dubbed G614 - a change from D614 - is a tiny change in its genetic make-up that scientists weren't sure what to make of when they found it. But by May research had found it had become the dominant strain being found in Covid-19 patients across the UK, US, Canada and Italy.

Owner of Minneapolis grocery store says he told employee 'call the police on the police'

Floyd, who was black, died Monday after a white Minneapolis police officer responding to a call about a forgery pressed his knee onto his neck for at least eight minutes. The incident was captured on video.

The author of the below article goes so far as to advocate for Vitamin D 'testing' in certain populations [see full article at link]. And what exactly is the problem? Answer: Short answer is that in reality there is no such thing as "Vitamin D". Longer answer is that this fictional "Vitamin D" has long been touted as the 'sunshine vitamin", but the truth is that sunshine is not a "vitamin", and that what is passed off as the "sunshine vitamin" is a chemical substance made in a laboratory called "cholecalciferol". And the more startling truth is that cholecalciferol aka Vitamin D is rat poison. In other words, to say it in plain language, so-called "Vitamin D" is a fake vitamin - and has been marketed and labeled as the 'sunshine alternative' in order to 'sell it' to the public at large. So Houston the problem we have here is a fake vitamin which is actually rat poison being pushed as a remedy for a unquestionably fake virus aka so-called Covid-19. Can it get any more bizarre?
