To the Chocolate Soldier the very thought of war brings a violent attack of ague (feverish chills), while the call to battle always finds him with the palsy. "I really cannot move," he says. "I only wish I could, but I can sing, and here are some of my favorite lines:

The 'follow up' link above has two articles posted which both appeared after 'Superstorm Sandy' wreaked havoc on the East Coast, primarily by it's "modern record" "storm surge" - a 14-foot wall of water the likes of which had never been seen previously as the result of a hurricane. But no sooner than this 'storm surge' precedent had been set, the claim is now made that this type of event is actually to be seen as something of a 'new normal' due to, of course, global warming; and that 'coastal inundation' as a result of superstorm hurricane-cyclones, hereafter to be known as "Black Swans", should be expected across the globe - with up to even thirty-foot 'surges'. The second article claims that "new research" suggests possible 26' East Coast tsunamis "from a variety of sources", even though if this were to happen it would be highly irregular, except for global warming that is.

Strange how tsunamis are becoming, and in fact have already become more commonplace than ever before in recorded history. Might even be a cause to wonder if tsunamis and/or 'storm surges' can be 'geoengineered'?

Well, oddly enough, a popular children's cartoon show from 1999/2000 that is currently being re-aired just so happens to demonstrate the 'geoengineering' of a tsunami. And even more interesting is that the way it is shown precisely matches what was revealed in a thirteen year old article published in the New Zealand Herald [dated 9-25-99], reporting on the New Zealand government's declassifying of files detailing secret testing of explosive-generated tsunamis, i.e. 'tsunami bombs', in the 1940's. This tsunami-making program was called "Project Seal":

(excerpted) Top-secret wartime experiments were conducted off the coast of Auckland to perfect a tidal wave bomb, declassified files reveal...An Auckland University professor seconded to the Army set off a series of underwater explosions triggering mini-tidal waves at Whangaparaoa in 1944 and 1945.

Details of the tsunami bomb, known as Project Seal, are contained in 53-year-old documents released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade...Papers stamped "top secret" show the US and British military were eager for Seal to be developed in the post-war years too. They even considered sending Professor Leech to Bikini Atoll to view the US nuclear tests* and see if they had any application to his work.

A former colleague of Professor Leech, Neil Kirton, told the Weekend Herald that the experiments involved laying a pattern of explosives underwater to create a tsunami. It is unclear what happened to Project Seal once the final report was forwarded to Wellington Defence Headquarters late in the 1940s.

The bomb was never tested on a full scale, and Mr Kirton doubts that Aucklanders would have noticed the trials..."Whether it could ever be resurrected ... Under some circumstances I think it could be devastating." [see 'report' below]

The cartoon show is called "Rescue Heroes". In this particular episode [see below], the plot has an underwater earthquake that has triggered a tsunami which is about to wipe out an oil derrick and then continue until it reaches the coast of Chile. Nothing too hard for the "Rescue Heroes" though, they conceive a plan to use explosives to trigger a counter-tsunami traveling in the opposite direction so the two tsunamis will cancel each other out:


[15:30] According to my calculations this tidal wave will reach an oil derrick that is home to 14 workers...that's the good news...the bad news is that it will continue until it wipes out the coast of Chile    [15:45] You want to set off an explosion, don't you?    [15:47] You tell me...is it feasible?    [15:50] Well, given the right locations, we'll need several...with the proper timing we can create our own tidal wave to counteract the real one

'Is it feasible' was the question in the cartoon dialogue at 15:47. According to the New Zealand government's declassified Project Seal report (referenced article linked above) 'geoengineered' tsunamis are more than feasible, and have in fact been successfully created, although the claim is that tsunami bombs had, at that time, almost seventy years ago [1944-45], never been tested to the full.

SUMMARY

The project "SEAL" had its origin in a request of the Commander South Pacific Area (COMSOPAC) during April l9th, to the New Zealand Government for an investigation into the potentialities of offensive inundation by waves generated by means of explosives. During the period from February to April 1944 exploratory trials in New Caledonia indicated that there were reasonable prospects of developing techniques for favourable sites. The request incorporated two phases - the development of techniques, and the application of these to a trial upon an operational scale. Owing to changes in policy at a later date, the second part was cancelled.

The work was carried out by the 24th Army Troops Company, New Zealand Engineers with the co-operation of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, The U.S. Navy and the Royal New Zealand Navy between the 6th June, 1944, and the 8th January 1945. Some 3,700 experiments were carried out with charges ranging from 0.06 lb. to 600 lb. in weight T.N.T was used generally. . . . although C.E., nitro-starch and gelginite were used in some cases.

On the 25th July l946, the second atom bomb trial took place at Bikini Atoll*, under conditions permitting of direct comparisons with forecasts based upon the work of the "SEAL" Unit. These forecasts were verified within the limits of experimental error. [see 'Wiki' below]

The investigations lead to the conclusion that offensive inundation is possible under favourable circumstances. Given low lying forshores and a shelving bottom off-shore, wave amplitudes of the order of those for recorded tidal waves, which have been disastrous, can be obtained. While T.N.T. or other explosives can be used, the engineering work specially involved introduces difficulties of considerable magnitude. The use of atomic bombs as multiple charges may be more practicable. The following matters of detail have been established:

INTRODUCTION

1.1 ORIGIN OF PROJECT:

Project "Seal", or the investigation of the potentialities of inundation by means of artificially produce[d] tidal* waves arose from a suggestion made by wing Commander E.A. Gibson to Lieutenant General Sir Edward Puttick, Chief of General Staff (N,Z.) on the 13th January 1942. The former had noted, whilst engaged upon surveys in the Pacific Area during the period 1936 to 1952, that blasting operations upon submerged coral formations occasionally were attended by unexpectedly large waves.

2.1 NEW CALEDONIAN EXPERIMENTS

It was decided to test the suggestion by ad hoc trials...Exploratory work was undertaken...

2.2 The results were incorporated in a report dated 31st March 1944, which was approved by Admiral Halsey and transmitted by him to the New Zealand Chiefs of Staff with a request that New Zealand undertake further investigations,as shown by the following extracts: -

"The results of these experiments, in my opinion, show that inundation in amphibious warfare has definite and far reaching possibilities as an offensive weapon, It would be very desirable to have further developments carried out to establish a practicable method and procedure which could be used in offensive warfare.

*The word "Tidal" is not strictly correct. However since the objective was the production of effects similar to those produced by naturally occurring tidal waves, the adjective has been used for the want of a better word.

5.1 SCOPE OF WORK AT WHANGAPAROA

5.4 The use of multiple charges suitably located to conform with geometrical patterns was found to give superior results not only as regards wave amplitudes, but in certain cases pronounced directional effects were produced. In all these cases the resultant wave amplitudes were sensitive to charge spacing, and charge location. The shape of the charge was also important.

(g) With charges of T.N.T, of the order of 2,000 tons divided into, say, ten equal amounts and suitably disposed, wave amplitudes of the order of 30 to 40 ft, are within the bounds of possibility at distances approximating 5 miles off-shore, given favourable and commonly found sea-bottoms.

(f) In 1944 the detonation of large masses of explosive presented a major unsolved problem. However, subsequent developments have shown that this need not be regarded as a serious problem.

SECTION I.
THE GENERATION OF WAVE SYSTEMS.
INTRODUCTION:

Three methods of generating wave systems have been examined:-

(a) Waves produced by an impulse at the surface, which may take the form of mechanical impact by a solid or the expansion of a gas near the water surface.

(b) Waves produced by the expansion of the gas bubble resulting from the explosion of a submerged charge.

(c) Waves produced by the action of a relatively slow displacement under the water surface.

1.2 The first method is discussed in detail in this report. The impact of a solid body, or of the gas liberated by an explosion, with the water surface creates a cavity surrounded by an elevated fringe of water from which the wave system develops, Early work in New Caledonia with 600 lb. depth charges fired at depths varying from 150 to 600 ft. produced disappointing results, and these observations led to the detailed examination of this method, '

1.31 The second method has been considered theoretically by Penny (l) (Appendix II), and Kirkwood (2). Restricted experimental work (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) has been carried out in the United Kingdom and United States of America. Further experimental work upon this method of wave generation is discussed in this report and many hitherto obscure points have been in part clarified. The critical discussion of the New Zealand work in (7) was based upon rough exploratory experiments, and is therefore no longer applicable.

1.32 When a charge is fired at a considerable depth a gas bubble is formed which expands beyond an equilibrium condition (3, 8), and given sufficient depth it will contract again beyond a second equilibrium condition. For great depths it will expand again and the cycle will be repeated successively until the bubble breaks through the water surface. Just prior to breaking the surface (venting) a dome is formed and the water thus elevated brings about the initial development of the surface wave system. After venting a cavity is formed which upon collapse gives rise to the second phase of the wave system. At considerable distances from the source of the two phases, a wave group is formed.

Perhaps the writers of the Rescue Heroes had access to this report, for the manner in which they depicted their man-made tsunami correlates exactly to what is found here. Namely multiple charges, strategically placed, with directional capability - all specifically mentioned above; and especially the way in which the eruption of the explosive charge at the water's surface was illustrated by an expanding "bubble" forming into a "dome", then turning into the "surface wave" itself - exactly as described in section (b) and 1.31 and 1.32 directly above. The Rescue Heroes cartoon is 'scientifically' accurate in every way in other words.

*Noteworthy also are the two mentions of the Bikini Atoll tests, one in the New Zealand Herald news article posted above, and the second in the quote from the summary (pg 3 of 30) of the Project Seal report itself. In 1946 the Bikini Atoll was the site of a military operation called "Operation Crossroads". The two references reveal that the tests involved in Project Seal and Operation Crossroads were related. The 'Crossroads' testing is described in this next few paragraphs. Taking a moment to carefully read this is worthwhile as the description is fascinating, giving some specific details on the "gas bubble" effect:

Wiki: "Operation Crossroads was a series of nuclear weapon tests conducted by the United States at Bikini Atoll in mid-1946...Crossroads consisted of two detonations, each with a yield of 23 kilotons of TNT (96 TJ): Able was detonated at an altitude of 520 feet (160 m) on July 1, 1946; Baker was detonated 90 feet (27 m) underwater on July 25, 1946. A third burst, Charlie, planned for 1947, was canceled primarily because of the Navy's inability to decontaminate the target ships after the Baker test.

[Baker test] The underwater fireball took the form of a rapidly expanding hot "gas bubble" that pushed against the water, generating a supersonic hydraulic shock wave which crushed the hulls of nearby ships as it spread out. Eventually it slowed to the speed of sound in water, which is one mile per second, five times faster than that of sound in air.[60] On the surface, the shock wave was visible as the leading edge of a rapidly expanding ring of dark water, called the "slick" for its resemblance to an oil slick.[61] Close behind the slick was a visually more dramatic, but less destructive whitening of the water surface called the "crack."

When the gas bubble's diameter equaled the water depth, 180 feet (55 m), it hit the sea floor and the sea surface simultaneously. At the bottom, it started digging a shallow crater, ultimately 30 feet (9 m) deep and 2,000 feet (610 m) wide.[63] At the top, it pushed the water above it into a "spray dome," which burst through the surface like a geyser. Elapsed time since detonation was four milliseconds.[64] During the first full second, the expanding bubble removed all the water within a 500-foot (152 m) radius and lifted two million tons[65] of spray and seabed sand into the air. As the bubble rose at 2,500 feet per second (762 m/s),[66] it stretched the spray dome into a hollow cylinder or chimney of spray called the "column," 6,000 feet (1,829 m) tall, 2,000 feet (610 m) wide, and with walls 300 feet (91 m) thick.

Meanwhile, lagoon water rushing back into the space vacated by the rising gas bubble started a tsunami-like water wave which lifted the ships as it passed under them. At 11 seconds after detonation, the first wave was 1,000 feet (305 m) from surface zero and 94 feet (29 m) high. [68] By the time it reached the Bikini Island beach, 3.5 miles (6 km) away, it was a nine-wave set with shore breakers up to 15 feet (5 m) high, which tossed landing craft onto the beach and filled them with sand.[69]"

According to the report, Project Seal was put back on the shelf after only a few years despite the prognosis of "devastating" potential. Quoting from the report summary (above), the final analysis was that "wave amplitudes of the order of those for recorded tidal waves, which have been disastrous, can be obtained". Exactly how big that might be is revealed in the quoted section from pg. 16 of the PDF (above), estimating "wave amplitudes of the order of 30 to 40 ft". The Bikini Atoll testing produced at least one significant wave, reported to be 94 feet at "surface zero", as described above, and that with only a single charge. How much more would be possible with multiple charges is not hard to imagine. Again, all this was 65-70 years ago, and apparently there is no other "declassified" information available as to how far tsunami-making science, if there is still any such thing of course, has advanced in this day and age.

But that information is not really needed because if giant storm surges from 'Superstorms', or Black Swan super-cyclones, or tsunamis inundate coastal areas, and forward Agenda 21 goals*, even though it never happened before, it is due to global warming. What else could it be.  Rev. 18:4

Pope signals inter-faith alliance against gay marriage

Pope Benedict on Friday signaled the Vatican was ready to forge alliances with other religions against gay marriage, saying the family was threatened "to its foundations" by attempts to change its "true structure".

The Vatican has gone on the offensive in response to gains for gay marriage in the United States and Europe, using every possible opportunity to denounce it through papal speeches or editorials in its newspaper or on its radio station.

Throwing the full weight of his office behind a study by France's chief rabbi on the effects the legalization of gay marriage would have on children and society, he said:

The battle lines are now effectively drawn on two fronts, homosexual pseudo-marriage, and the HHS mandate. The foundations of society are at stake says the pope, and with that this then becomes a fight to the finish. There truly is no way out other than the promised resistance, which has been in the planning stages for a couple of years now. With the political circus-slash-election now past, the religious-protest part of the global agenda, already well primed, will now be brought to the forefront. It will not be long before things start heating up. Civil disobedience, arrests, chaos, all on tap [example]. Interfaith religious organizations forming to meet the 'crisis', once formed, will never be 'unformed'. The scheme is intentional, designed to accomplish the very thing; see:

What's in a name?

Hidden messages in names? In any certain event, upon analysis of the names involved, certainly there could be no expectation of finding any hidden message pertaining to that event in those names. The idea is ridiculous of course. If there was discovered some sort of secret message being communicated though, this of course necessitates design and purpose in it. As to design, sometimes a name may sound like something else, suggesting a thought; sometimes the etymology of a name may by interpretation hint at something; sometimes a name may represent something to a particular group or individual and convey a specific meaning. All these can be different ways that names can be used to communicate something.

Is something being communicated with the names in the 12-14-12 Sandy Hook event? Let the reader decide.

Three of the most predominant names in this event are (1) Adam Lanza of course, (2) Dawn Hochsprung, and (3) Victoria Soto:

1. Adam Lanza = Adam lands

Luke 10: 18 'And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven'

Adam is a biblical name which simply means 'man'. 'Lands' speaks of an arrival. "Adam lands" then speaks of the the arrival of 'man', in essence, this speaks of apotheosis. Apotheosis is the deification of man.

1Cor 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Adam is the first man, he is of the earth. He is in opposition to the second man, the Lord Jesus Christ. The epitome of Adam is to be 'man deified', the epitome of man deified is to be the Antichrist himself. Psalms 10:18 titles the Antichrist "the man of the earth". In the NT, the Antichrist is titled "the man of sin" [2Th. 2:3].

The arrival of Adam then, i.e. "Adam lands", carries both meanings: man's arrival at godhood, as well as the appearing of Antichrist. This hidden message is carried over from the Batman theme, the Dark Knight rises.


2. Dawn Hochsprung = dawn hath sprung

This second name is as obvious as it could possibly be. It takes us immediately back to what happened in Aurora, Colorado in July of this year:

"Unclean and hateful birds...have arrived"? Have they? Who and what are they? Interestingly enough, the cryptic Windows 8 Angry Birds commercial linked in the above post seems to indicate, if the interpretation is correct, that the self-professed 'global elite' are now in fact styling themselves as "birds of prey" (have to see the video; read post). If that is in fact the case, the message being sent is pretty self-explanatory - they see themselves as now ready to swoop-in and take the prey. The prey being the entire earth in this instance.

With that, here is a new 2013 Range Rover commercial that is just now starting to be played quite a bit. It just may be another 'cryptic' message complementing perfectly the Windows 8 Angry Birds message:

There is a slightly older version of this commercial where these papers, belonging to the photographer, are shown laying on the passenger seat. They were not really noticeable if not looking for them, presumably viewers were unable to 'get the point. This new version of the commercial zooms right in on them and obviously they can not be missed. Most will still miss 'the point' entirely just the same. This, by definition, is what you call 'hidden in plain sight'.

"Birds of Prey - official assignment". Brand new 2013 Range Rover. And Windows 8 Angry Birds. Connection? Seems that this commercial could be a signal that that the "official assignment" has been given, and that 2013 is definitely going to be all about doing the 'Birds of Prey' thing.

One thing known by continually increasing numbers of people in this internet taught world today is that the secret powers that be, so to speak, always telegraph their moves. That is to say that they purposely leave clues or evidence of their responsibility for any particular actions they may take or have taken. The commonly used phrase describing this, as is also well known, is "hidden in plain sight". Cryptic messages couched in symbolism hidden in plain sight is their method of operation. To them it is 'gameplay' These things are known. Identifying those clues and deciphering the 'hidden messages' is another story. At best it is an inexact science.

Nevertheless, some things are so strange and/or obviously anomalous that it is impossible to look at them without seeing that a definite message is intended. As each case is of course unique, the hidden message, if there really is one, may be more clear in one case than another. Again, it is an inexact science.

Which brings up the subject of this Windows 8 commercial, first released a little over a month ago [11-9-12] : Windows 8 Angry Birds Star Wars COMMERCIAL: May The Birds Be With You. It appears to be the predominant Windows 8 commercial at this time, still now playing repeatedly on television in this country, if not the world. If you have watched any television recently you've probably seen the commercial a number of times, possibly not even taking note of it. It is short and very quick moving. The theme of the commercial is of a young girl doing a Bing search on her new touchscreen desktop running Windows 8, while at the same time it is a promotion for the 'Angry Birds' video game, which recently expanded with a new 'Star Wars' theme.

For those who do not know, "Angry Birds" is a video game that has become somewhat of a global phenomena. A very simple concept, sling-shotting birds at 'pigs' to score points. Mindless entertainment at it's best apparently, but the fact is that for whatever reason it is huge in the video game world, and the clothing industry, etc. 'Angry Birds' has become literally a world-wide phenomena.

In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playing field. The video is very short, only thirty-one seconds, loaded with subliminals, flashing across the screen almost too fast to see:



So fast are the different images flashed across the screen that it is virtually impossible to know what was just viewed. So the only way to know what was viewed, and 'decipher' what it was all about, is to stop the video and clip the images. By the way, did you see the all-seeing-eye?

As mentioned above, the video shows a girl doing a Bing search on her touchscreen Windows 8. She does two separate searches. As she types it shows the "search suggestion" feature running. Keeping in mind the Star Wars theme, the first search is for "far away galaxies"

E.U. Leaders Agree on Single European Banking Supervisor

BRUSSELS — E.U. leaders gathering here Thursday for their year-end summit meeting hailed an agreement to place euro zone banks under a single supervisor, calling it a concrete measure to maintain the viability of the currency as well as a step in laying the groundwork for a broader economic union.

The pact was hashed out in an all-night session of finance ministers that ended Thursday morning after France and Germany made significant compromises. Under the agreement, between 100 and 200 large banks in the euro zone will fall under the direct supervision of the European Central Bank.

In a concession to Germany, the finance ministers agreed that thousands of smaller banks would be primarily overseen by national regulators. But to satisfy the French, who wanted all euro zone banks to be held accountable, the E.C.B. would be able to take over supervision of any bank in the region at any time.

The bank supervision plan was first discussed in June* [see link below] and wrapped up in a matter of months — record time by the glacial standards of E.U. rulemaking. The agreement should serve as a springboard for leaders to weigh further steps toward economic integration during their meeting.

The new system should be fully operational by March 2014, but ministers left the door open for the E.C.B. to push that date back if the central bank would “not be ready for exercising in full its tasks.”

re: 'euro-zone banks under a single supervisor...record time'

It does not get any bigger than this. For the European nations to surrender financial control of their countries to an inter-national body is literally 'world-changing'. Those countries effectively cease to exist as nations at that exact moment. While an appearance of individual nationality may remain, it truly will be an illusion. A intertwined monetary system can only mean an eventual intertwining of and control over every aspect of life across the entire region. Note though that it is being phased in, as it is said that this beginning stage will comprise 100 - 200 of the largest banks in the Eurozone, while "thousands of smaller banks would be primarily overseen by national regulators". This is essentially meaningless on at least two counts though. Obviously the "national regulators" will then have to be overseen by the 'Big Central Bank', so that is a ruse, and the clause that states that the smaller banks can be taken over "at any time" means that they really have no autonomy at all.

Akron security consultant believes malls need to make improvements after shooting inside Oregon mall

A local security consultant said he believes malls need to increase the level of security personnel in light of the mall shooting in Oregon that left three people dead, including the gunman.

"I've been saying for the last couple of years, we are going to start to have these incidences in the malls and I believe this is just the tip of iceberg," said Timothy Dimoff, who owns SACS Consulting in Akron.

Dimoff said mall security officers are usually unarmed and not a strong deterrent...To prevent copycat crimes, Dimoff said he believes malls need to take steps to enhance surveillance equipment and hire better trained, armed personnel.

"I think you need to have police officers, off-duty officers, ex-military or higher trained personnel," Dimoff said.

To bring in a "new level" of security, besides ex-military or higher-trained "armed" guards, the above "local security consultant" suggests for the country's shopping malls some unspecified "enhance[d] surveillance equipment". Very likely what he is referring to may be some sort of a widespread 'enhanced-security program' that would more than likely include 'surveillance towers', just like these already being used in Knoxville Tennessee:

It's too predictable. As the heads of the three EU institutions collected the Nobel Peace Prize today (10 December) in Oslo, they were told that 'what this continent has achieved is truly fantastic,' but that more needed to be done to make good government win in Europe.

Speaking under the Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s allegoric frescoes of good and bad government, Thorbjørn Jagland, chair of the Nobel prize committee, said that Europe is surely not perfect, but that it has the power to solve ‘our problems together’.

“We need institutions to ensure that both nation-states and individuals exercise compromise, self-control and moderation,” he said, adding that these are the principal needs in a world full of the dangers of the 21st​ century.

Collecting the prize in Oslo, Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, stressed the need for further fraternity between European nations in a time of uncertainty.

“We must stand together. We have collective responsibility. Without this European cooperation, the result might easily have been new protectionism, new nationalism, with the risk that the ground gained would be lost,” Jagland said.

Referring obliquely to the financial crisis that is affecting innocent people, the Nobel committee chair underscored the Union’s political set up, and stressed it must be consolidated.

And as it is only the first of many "regions", for them, the time to get this done is asap.

'With complete disregard for driver privacy, the Obama administration gave their consent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to mandate black box event data recorders (EDR) be installed in all new cars in the US.

The NHTSA says that by September 2014 all car and light trucks will be equipped with EDRs that will silently “record the actions of drivers and the responses of their vehicles in a continuous information loop.”'

The excuse is the EDRs gather information about car crashes in the moments leading up to the accident that manufacturers can use to improve their safety measures when constructing vehicles. However, the government regulation utilizes surveillance technology with policies that do not outline the expressed use of the data collected in the EDRs.

It should be noted that while both countries have sworn to "maintain national sovereignty", this will only be a facade. The harmonization i.e. integration of the two countries is not according to any sovereign goals of the two countries, but according to the globalist agenda. 'Black Swan' Storms: Extreme Cyclones Linked To Warming Seas 12-4-12
A "black swan" cyclone may sound like the latest comic book hero, but this "extreme of the extremes" is the result of climate models that suggest global warming will make future hurricanes more intense. The rare monster tropical cyclones (the term for hurricanes, typhoons and other tropical storms) could inundate coastal areas with storm surges greater than 15 feet (4.6 meters), and could even surpass 30 feet (9 m) in some regions of the world.

Although the risk is small, tsunamis are possible on the East Coast of the United States from a variety of sources, according to new research. And as Hurricane Sandy showed, the region is completely unprepared for a major influx of water, said U.S. Geological Survey researcher Uri ten Brink. The most likely source for an East Coast tsunami would be an underwater avalanche along the continental slope, according to research presented by ten Brink and others earlier this month at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Charlotte, N.C. Ten Brink also outlined several other possible sources of tsunamis, including earthquakes and even collapsing volcanoes. An offshore earthquake of magnitude 4.5 or above could cause submarine avalanches and create dangerous tsunamis with waves higher than 26 feet (8 meters), ten Brink told OurAmazingPlanet. Underwater canyons and bays could focus these waves and make them even bigger.
