The 'expert' guest comes on, author of a book called "The Cult of the Amateur", in which he claims, according to BoP employee #2 that "blogs, myspace, youtube, and other user-generated media are killing the American economy, the culture, and our values"

The 'guest' then describes these internet users as having "a certain paranoia about media, an obsession with conspiracy, a kind of lunacy...[unintelligble]...an extremism...a bitterness..."

He then goes on to praise "other parts of the internet" and particularly the global-corporate media talking heads for 'saving the day'...."the msm and guys like you came to the rescue...you sorted the case out...you showed that it was a lie, you revealed the fact, the reality, the truth...

BoP employee #1 then replies..."But we can't always do that...there's going to have to be...a point in time....where these people have to be held accountable...[and]...they're a bunch of cowards...people seeking attention.."

And BoP employee #2 a bit later chimes in with this remark where he floats the idea of internet censorship: "what [he]...talked to me about was this idea of a gatekeeper"

Moral of the 'Sherrod' story?

Thousands of police officers have been laid off all across America since the current economic crisis began. Thousands more are getting ready to be laid off. That is the message that one blood-smeared billboard in Stockton, California is trying to get across. Paid for by the Stockton, California police union, the message of the billboard is chillingly clear: "Welcome to the 2nd most dangerous city in California. Stop laying off cops." As state, city and local governments across the United States continue to be devastated by the ongoing economic crisis, budget cuts are becoming much deeper and police forces have suddenly become a very popular target.

Why is the union putting up all of these billboards?

Well, it turns out that Stockton has been considering a plan to lay off 53 police officers in an effort to eliminate a $23 million budget deficit.

But law enforcement in Stockton has already been cut to the bone. Recently, the Stockton Police Department dropped this bombshell....

"We absolutely do not have any narcotics officers, narcotics sergeants working any kind of investigative narcotics type cases at this point in time."

The sheriff's department in Ashtabula County, Ohio has been slashed from 112 to 49 deputies, and there is now just one vehicle remaining to patrol all 720 square miles of the county.

So what are the citizens of that county supposed to do to protect themselves?

Well, when asked about what they should do, Judge Alfred Mackey gave this stunning piece of advice....

"Arm themselves."

WASHINGTON—Congress approved a rewrite of rules touching every corner of finance, from ATM cards to Wall Street traders, in the biggest expansion of government power over banking and markets since the Depression.

The bill, to be signed into law soon by President Barack Obama, marks a potential sea change for the financial-services industry.

Now, the legislation hands off to 10 regulatory agencies the discretion to write hundreds of new rules governing finance. Rather than the bill itself, it will be this process—accompanied by a lobbying blitz from banks—that will determine the precise contours of this new landscape, how strict the new regulations will be and whether they succeed in their purpose. The decisions will be made by officials from new agencies, obscure agencies and, in some cases, agencies like the Federal Reserve that faced criticism in the run-up to the crisis.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has designated 30 "team leaders" to begin implementing its expansive new authority...

The legislation creates a council of regulators to monitor economic risks; establishes a new agency to police consumer financial products; and sets new standards for the way derivatives are traded.

The bill "is a 2,300-page legislative monster…that expands the scope and the powers of ineffective bureaucracies," said Sen. Richard Shelby (R., Ala.).

Supporters and critics agree the impact of the bill will be determined over several years.

The law's passing "is the beginning of the process and not the end," says Satish Kini, co-chair of the banking group at law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. "The shape of the reform won't be known until the regulators have spoken."

Oakland: Cops Not Coming Peeps; And The NWO

Oakland cops not coming unless crime is violent

On Tuesday, the city laid off 80 officers to help eliminate a $30.5 million budget deficit, prompting the department to announce that officers would no longer be dispatched to take reports for most nonviolent crimes. "With current levels of staffing, we are unable to respond to many lower-priority calls," said Officer Jeff Thomason, a police spokesman.

Instead, Oakland residents now have to file certain crime reports online or visit a police station. Those without a computer can ask that a blank form be mailed to them or pick one up at a library. Residents can still call 911 to report emergencies and crimes such as shootings, robberies, rapes and assaults.

By Aug. 2, Oakland police intend to expand the online system - called Coplogic - so residents can report seven other types of crimes, including residential burglaries in which the suspects aren't known.

"There will be no follow-up investigation and the primary purpose for filing the report is for insurance purposes," according to the department.

Nearly two dozen other Bay Area agencies use Coplogic to some degree. The San Ramon company that created it bills itself as "the innovator in online citizen reporting."

Crimes that Oakland police now ask residents to report online:

Police won't come? What in the world is going on here?

Answer: Same as always - 'going global'.

The redefining of the police and their role in society, which is exactly what this is about, is a another clear evidence of the transformation of the U.S. from state/city government to the communitarian system of global government.

State and city governments have no place in this global management scheme, and while it is taking some time and effort, they eventually will be completely eliminated. Global government at the local level will be a community-based 'system of management'. This plan is known as Agenda 21, or United Nations Agenda for the 21st Century. Another name for it is 'communitarianism' (i.e. community-communism). [see post; follow links]

The affairs of local governments are to be shifted to the individual communities. This will be of necessity, they will say, using the fabricated excuse that the states and/or cities are 'bankrupt', and no longer able to provide the particular services. The result will be that communities will need to then organize and essentially fend for themselves. This process is perfectly exampled by this charade in the city of Oakland.

Self-policed communities are an integral component of the communitarian system.

Years ago a nationwide program called C.O.P.S. (community oriented policing) was created to establish partnerships between local law enforcement and community citizen action groups. Although not promoted as such, this NWO program was cleverly designed to train those community groups for the time when they would have to essentially police their own communities.

Belgium's plan to wash its dead down the drain: Bodies would be dissolved in caustic solution... and flushed into the sewer

Undertakers in Belgium plan to eschew traditional burials and cremations and start dissolving corpses instead.

The move is intended to tackle a lack of burial space and environmental concerns as 573lbs of carbon dioxide are released by each cremated corpse.

Under the process, known as resomation, bodies are treated in a steel chamber with potassium hydroxide at high pressure and a temperature of 180c (350f).

The raised pressure and temperature means the body reaches a similar end point as in standard cremation — just bones left to be crushed up — in two to three hours.

Six states in America have passed legislation to allow resomation and the Scottish company behind the technology says it is in talks to allow the process in the UK.

Although the ashes can be recycled in waste systems, the residue from the process can also be put in urns and handed over to relatives of the dead like normal ashes from crematorium farewells.

'Elsewhere across the globe this is a work in progress.'

Sandy Sullivan, founder of The Resomation Company said: 'Resomation offers a new, innovative approach which uses less energy and emits significantly less greenhouse gasses than cremation.

'Burial space is running out and I have had lots of people contact me whose loved ones have chosen resomation.

'It's a highly sensitive subject but I think the public are ready for it.'

The name ‘Resomation’ comes from the Greek word ‘Resoma’ meaning rebirth of the human body.

Belgian undertakers hope to have the greenlight within three months.

The end result is a small quantity of green-brown tinted liquid containing amino acids, peptides, sugars and salts and soft, porous white bone remains which are easily crushed.

The liquid can be recycled back to the ecosystem by being applied to a memorial garden or forest or simply put into the sewerage system.

A spirit of hardness, then, is an infallible mark of the spirit not being of God. By hardness, I mean the opposite of tenderness. Opposition to God's truth, an unwillingness, an inability to fall under the power of it; setting up our prejudice, our pride, our preconceived opinions against the solemn authority of God, and maintaining a rugged, unbending, unyielding temper.

Now this is a very different thing from firmness. Gospel firmness and judicial hardness are two very different things. A man cannot be too firm when God the Spirit has meekened his heart, and made the truth precious to him; but he will not have hardness of spirit; he will fall in a moment before truth. Let God only bring one of His people upon His heart; let Him only touch his conscience with His finger, and he is broken to pieces. But it is not so with the heart that is hard; neither law nor gospel has an effect there, but even a profession of religion is carried out in an unyielding spirit, a hard, self-opinionated perverseness.

Now we are called upon to "try the spirits." But wherever there is a spirit in man it will communicate itself to others. Spirit is of a diffusive nature. It is so naturally. The wind that blows in our face, and impels ships on the broad seas, spreads itself from place to place, and fills every corner; there is a certain impulse connected with the wind that makes it universally felt. So spirit is diffusive, whether the Spirit of God for good, or the spirit of evil for evil. Now, do you try the spirits of men this way. Try the spirits of the companions with whom you associate, that make a profession of religion; see whether there be any hardness in them, an unbending temper; see whether what is said to them on divine things make any impression; whether there be any softness, brokenness, tenderness, or any yielding of themselves to the truth of God. And if you sit under a sound ministry, watch whether the minister has a hard spirit. You will soon discover it, if God has made your conscience soft and tender, as Job said, "For God maketh my heart soft." (Job. xxiii. 16.) Watch whether his words fall as if they came from a hard heart. If so, they will communicate a similar measure of hardness to you. You will find, instead of that tenderness, softness, and contrition that you felt in times past, there will be a creeping over you by gradual steps a numbness, a hardness, a searedness, whereby truth seems to have lost its power; it does not sink into the conscience, nor carry with it that humbling impression it formerly did. How much the beginnings of this fearful evil are like the letting out of water! When once a man's heart begins to be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin, or whenever a hard spirit is communicated from the pulpit to the people, it is the beginning of a fearful evil; and, if God prevent not, it will lead to awful backsliding.

Oil giant BP stops refueling Iranian airliners in Europe - in face of threatened reprisals

The new US sanctions covering the sale to Iran of refined oil products including gasoline and jet oil, which President Barak Obama signed into law Friday, July 2, have gone into action, debkafile's Iranian and military sources report. Monday, July 5, Mehdi Aliyari, secretary of Iranian Airlines Union, said airports in Britain, Germany, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates had refused to refuel Iranian passenger planes. He said the cutoff affected the national carrier Iran Air and the biggest Iranian private airline Mahan Air, both of which operate several flights to Europe. Following this announcement, a spokeswoman of the oil giant BP said "we will comply with any international sanctions that are imposed.

Tehran is particularly put out by the refusal of the United Arab Emirates' international airport in Dubai to provide fueling services. It is a transit hub for the many of millions of Iranians who fly to Persian Gulf and Middle East destinations. So central is this facility to Iran's international air connections that it has two terminals, one for ordinary traffic and one just for Iranian flights.

Pervez Sorouri, a lawmaker and member of Iranian parliament's committee on foreign policy and national security, warned Tehran would take retaliatory action for these sanctions.

Since Friday, Iranian leaders have been telling the public that the new US sanctions will not affect their lives and their government has set up alternative arrangements to bypass them. But they will now have a hard time explaining away penalties that affect the life of every individual and family.

Saturday, after learning its passenger flights would be denied fuel, Iran's leaders held an emergency conference to decide how to react.

The law drafted by Congress shuts US markets to firms that provide Iran with refined petroleum products, such as gasoline and jet fuel, invest in its energy sector, or provide financing, insurance or shipping services. Non-US banks doing business with blacklisted Iranian entities, primarily Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps organizations, will be banned from US markets. These measures complement and strengthen the new UN Security Council sanctions and European measures and will hit every Iranian.

It also ordered that I show cause in 14 days why the Court should not find me liable for damages and costs suffered by the defendants in having to defend what the court considers to be a “frivolous” appeal. White House Enacts Rules Inhibiting Media From Covering Oil Spill

The White House Thursday enacted stronger rules to prevent the media from showing what's happening with the oil spill in the Gulf Coast.

CNN's Anderson Cooper reported that evening, "The Coast Guard today announced new rules keeping photographers and reporters and anyone else from coming within 65 feet of any response vessel or booms out on the water or on beaches -- 65 feet."

He elaborated, "Now, in order to get closer, you have to get direct permission from the Coast Guard captain of the Port of New Orleans. You have to call up the guy. What this means is that oil-soaked birds on islands surrounded by boom, you can't get close enough to take that picture."

Senate 'Internet Kill Switch' Bill Moves Forward

A Senate committee on Thursday approved a cyber-security bill that has prompted concern about a presidential "Internet kill switch."

The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee unanimously approved the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010 (S. 3480). It now moves to the Senate floor for a full vote.

The bill is an over-arching cyber-security measure, which would, among other things, create an office of cyberspace policy within the White House, which would be led by a Senate-appointed director. It would also create a new center within the Homeland Security Department, which would implement cyber-security policies.

A provision that got the most attention, however, was one that gave the president the power to "authorize emergency measures to protect the nation's most critical infrastructure if a cyber vulnerability is being exploited or is about to be exploited."

Though the language is somewhat vague, this section was interpreted by many as giving the president an "Internet kill switch" that would effectively allow him to "turn off" the Web in an emergency.

This legislation would fundamentally reshape the way the federal government defends America's cyberspace. It takes a comprehensive, risk-based, and collaborative approach to addressing critical vulnerabilities in our own defenses. We believe our bill would go a long way toward improving the security of our government and private critical infrastructure, and therefore the security of the American people."

Rep. Jane Harman, a California Democrat, has introduced a House version of the bill, H.R. 5548, but it has not yet passed committee.
