Magic mushrooms for depression? FDA gives treatment ‘breakthrough’ status
[excerpted] This week, life sciences company COMPASS Pathways announced that it has received “Breakthrough Therapy” designation from the United States Food and Drug Administration for its psilocybin therapy aimed at individuals with treatment-resistant depression.
Psilocybin, the main active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms, is also known as Little Smoke, Magic Mushrooms, Purple Passion and Shrooms, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Like many other hallucinogens, the drug can alter one’s perception, thoughts and feelings or cause hallucinations.
The FDA’s new designation is a significant milestone for psilocybin therapy, highlighting “the importance of supporting early research that can be translated to clinically meaningful outcomes,” company officials wrote in a news release. The designation will fast track the FDA’s review of the treatment for possible approval.
COMPASS Pathways will begin running the first large-scale psilocybin clinical trial for treatment-resistant depression in Europe and North America within the next two years.

On a related topic, what do you know about the game Pokeman and Pokeman Cards? Many of my grandchildren are seriously into this, which concerns me. If you are familiar with this, could you provide a link to any articles written about it which I could share with my children, which would warn them of the dangers of this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom.
Pokemon .. which means pocket monster. The name says it all really. The game and cards are clearly an entry to the occult world. Not innocent fun as many (even professing-christians) will say.
Playing pokemon involves invoking/summoning 'pocket-monsters' (i.e. spirits), casting spells, role playing as master of those invoked 'pokemons', having superpowers...and much more. Witchcraft, sorcery is what these things are - all there is to it - but, speaking from personal experience, it still can be an uphill battle to get even 'church-people' to accept that reality... or get kids to give it up once they get hooked. Regardless of that, imperative to oppose it - especially in family - however possible.
