Taking The 666 Is 'Forgivable' - John MacArthur, Brannon Howse, Jimmy DeYoung, Phil Johnson
The backdrop for this video [link (new 2020)] is this: It is an audio recording of an interview by 'Worldview Weekend's' Brannon Howse of 'preacher' Jimmy DeYoung. Apparently some time back 'preacher' Jimmy DeYoung came out with the stated position that a person could in fact take the "mark of the beast" and still be 'saved' if they were to later repent. This audio recording is Christendom personality Brannon Howse informing said Jimmy DeYoung of some good news - at which the two become somewhat giddy - turns out that widely known and generally widely respected bible teacher John MacArthur (this will be no surprise for many as MacArthur's globalist connections are known and documented - research will bear this out) took the exact same position a few years back - and has never retracted it:
[2:20] Audience questioner: "Once a person takes the mark...is there any possibility of him coming to Christ?"
[2:25] MacArthur: "Yes...
[2:52] ...in order to function in the economy of the Antichrist you have to take the mark of the beast
[3:35] ...now the question is if you are living in the tribulation period and you take this mark...in other words you identify with the beast's empire...will you still be able to be redeemed? and I think the answer to that is yes...yes..."

This all came out about three weeks ago. The video [video above a replacement] was posted October 13th. Being that the audio clip of MacArthur is a few years old some thought that perhaps MacArthur may have retracted his statements at some point. Not the case. Rather, another 'Christendom' personality, Phil Johnson, seemingly in some capacity considered to be something of a public relations manager for John MacArthur wrote, not a rebuttal, but a confirmation and defense of "Grace-To-You" John MacArthur's stated position (Note that in Johnson's estimation this critical matter of eternal life or death is "certainly not worth all the ink..wasted and..bandwidth consumed" anyway):
[excerpted - link] "Several years ago in a live Q&A session, someone asked John MacArthur if taking the mark of the Beast during the Great Tribulation would be an unpardonable sin. His answer, in short, was no...This whole issue suddenly became a matter of intense controversy when it was mentioned on a provocative radio program. It’s certainly not worth all the ink that has been wasted and all the bandwidth that has been consumed by angry people demanding explanations and retractions." [The defense then goes on with Johnson 'explaining' why the inerrant Word of God does not really mean what it says...because God is a loving God, merciful, etc.]
This despite clear and unmistakable statements of the inerrant Word of God to the contrary stating the absolute finality of taking that step*, namely, "identify[ing] with the beast's empire", to quote MacArthur.
Revelation 14:9-11 is one passage of many that could be used to make the case. There we find that at the same time that the 'beast' begins the implementation of his 'marking program', there will be an angel flying in the "midst of heaven" pronouncing certain judgment on all who take the 'mark':
'And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name' Rev. 14:9-11
Those who align themselves with Satan by taking his 'mark' or 'name' or 'number' (Rev. 13:16-17), far from being ever able to repent, will "drink of the wine of the wrath of God". They will be without excuse. All will understand clearly what is happening in that time, as the angel assigned to the job will make sure of it and will not fail. Much more could be said, as there is much more to the things that will transpire on the earth in these days. Many that do refuse the 'mark' will be martyred during this time though (Rev. 20:4), and others will live through it without taking the 'mark' (not recommended to try - link), according to the Holy Scripture.
What these men, MacArthur, Howse, DeYoung, Johnson (and possibly the others whose pictures were seen in the video, eg. Piper, Warren, Laurie, Coy, et al.) either do not understand, or do not believe, is that salvation is only possible as the Holy Spirit of God first moves upon a man. The angel flying in the midst of heaven sounding the warning will be the work that the Spirit of God is doing at that point. If that is not heeded and the 666 mark of the beast is taken, that person will never be afforded another chance for a 'do over'. To say otherwise is to expressly contradict the Word of God and in that is inexcusable.
Who will you believe? Those who will edit the Word of God, for whatever reason, perhaps to suit their doctrinal system, or the angel flying in the midst of heaven? You do not want to be wrong on this one because what is at stake, should you one day find yourself in this predicament, is "fire and brimstone...for ever and ever."
There is a very solemn warning given to any who would take upon themselves to "take away from the words of this book of this prophecy":
Rev. 22:19 "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
The above verse is often made to apply to the entire bible, but this is incorrect. The application applies specifically to the taking away of the "words of the book of this prophecy" - the Book of Revelation.
Which, and there is no way around it, is exactly what MacArthur, Howse, DeYoung, and Johnson have done. Rev. 18:4

Jhon MAcrthur didn't apostasies as far as I know. I don't know if the MArk of the beast is forgivable or not it does say the people don't repent after they take the mark. Just don't take the mark in the first place.
(im not a real Christian btw and im not sure ill ever be one unfortunately)
John 9
(1) And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
(6) When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
(7) And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
(13) ¶ They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
(15) Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
(24) Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
(25) He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
(34) They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
(35) Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
(36) He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
(37) And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
(38) And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.
Dear Anonymous. I was just wondering why you're not sure if you'll ever be a real Christian. It would be very unfortunate. Now is the time.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17
Read all of the book of John in the New Testament (King James Version). The Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ loves you very much.
Dear Anonymous, I will pray that you will come to know for sure that you belong to the our Blessed Savior.
John Macarthur has been teaching for decades that one can take the Mark of the Beast and still be redeemed. Lest people think this is his only false teaching, he has been teaching for 40 years that the "blood of Jesus Christ has no power to save." I'd like to give a link where Christians can read much more about Macarthur if they so desire.

I see that I've commented once before on this post regarding Macarthur, but this time I would like to add something of even greater significance that possibly this blog author may even consider exposing and that's the fact that John Macarthur's annual "Camp Regeneration" which he holds for Christian high school age children is actually the Druid Festival of Lughnasadh. These young Christians under Macarthur's directive are invoking pagan "gods" during this "Summer Camp." Please go to the following site to read the shocking and true details.
www.thewatchmanwakes.com
What is hard to comprehend, is how does John MacArthur go unscathed; and few notice all his false teaching. It's almost as if he is infallible and can make no error, like a Christian Pope. Not one Calvinist has corrected this man on this serious error of the "mark of the beast" false teaching. Jacob Prasch did come out and expose it, which is good. But basically, he goes Scott free.
Amen, to his false teaching on the blood.
Here's a link showing all about the error of this man. http://hiswordfirst555.ning.com/group/discernmentinthechurch/forum/topics/john-mac-arthur-and-suicide-etc-video
Very true re: MacArthur on the "Camp Regeneration" he holds for young people. The facts about this camp are shocking, how Satanic this camp is. Jesus said we would know them by their fruit. This is rottenness to the core, and influencing these teens for evil.
That's interesting, Anonymous. Why would you say that you are not sure you will ever be a 'real Christian'? I'm just curious.
Ridiculous. There is only one unforgivable sin, right? The mark ain't it. Can Matthew 5:29-30 be literal? I believe you can be forgiven too, but maybe if it is a physical mark, you are gonna have to physically remove it when you miss the rapture. And why can't i just click on the Watchman's site to find his core values? Two page search is enough for me; i see only rants. I would be very wary of a person whose sole purpose is to discredit everyone else. There must be others than MacArthur? Greg Laurie because he was seen with Rick Warren? Oh sure. And i am Catholic or Jewish if i shake the Pope's or Rabbi's hand. Warren i agree. He signed the Yale agreement.
to rbj,
re: 'the mark ain't it'
Ok then so if there is something in the bible that you do not like just cross it out (even if it is clear and plain as a thing could be)
Like this passage:
Rev. 14:9-11 'And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name"
So the Holy Ghost does not really mean what he says here - right? (ridiculous)
Careful now...don't want to get this one wrong
"for ever and ever" is a loooonnnng time
av
Didn't get past the third sentence i see. And if i am wrong am i doomed?
Believe the Word of God
Acts 28:24
John MacArthur's teaching on the Mark of the Beast and his summer camp are very interesting in light of the publicity he is receiving right now. Designed to give him the spotlight and then lead people away from the Truth?
