Yeshu[a] NOT HIS NAME BUT A JUDAIZED DECEPTION TO DENY HIS NAME
'Yeshua' - the supposed Hebrew name of 'Jesus' - hear it everywhere can't escape it.
The reality: The name yeshu[a] derives from the jewish talmud - 'Yeshu' was a bastard (born out of wedlock - i.e. not a virgin-birth); sorcerer (did 'witchcraft' - i.e. did miracles); and idol worshiper (worshiped more than one God - i.e. said God was triune); and his mother (named Miriam - i.e. Mary) was a prostitute.
The literal meaning of "Yeshu" - spelled without the 'a' on the end in the jewish talmud - is 'may his name be blotted out forever'. This is admitted not at all disputed. Fact: The name is code for the real name they want to blot out which is the name "JESUS". That Yeshu does actually refer to Jesus is also not denied.
This now raises the issue regarding the name 'Yeshua' - with the 'a' added to the end: Yeshu[a]. The basic explanation goes something like this: yeshu - bad; yeshu w/ an 'a' on the end - good.
The claim then is that Yeshua with the 'a' supposedly is the name "Joshua" in Hebrew. This point is not the first concern. Where the issue comes is the next step taken to replace the name of Jesus with Yeshu[a]. That step is the claim that the name "Joshua" in Hebrew equates to the name "Jesus" in English, then applying the classic equation 'if a=b and b=c then a=c' - to claim voila - Yeshua is the same as Joshua is the same as Jesus. Therefore - it is claimed - Yeshua is the actual name of JESUS.
Huge problem: who says the Hebrew name Joshua and the English name Jesus are synonymous? They are not. There is no biblical warrant whatsoever for making this assumption - which is exactly what it is - claiming it is a 'transliteration' of Hebrew to English by using similar-looking 'letter symbols' and phonetic sounds - which is purely arbitrary. In other words they made it up. Reason: to 'blot out his name'.
The only explanation of the name JESUS is from the angel of the LORD [Mt. 1:20] when speaking to Joseph who said this:
Matthew 1:21 'And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins'
Note the colon after the name JESUS. What follows is the explanation and meaning of the name "JESUS" - the only one found in scripture: "he shall save his people from their sins". Of no other can this be said. The name Joshua does not carry this meaning. Joshua never saved his people from their sins, JESUS does save his people from their sins - the names are not in any way synonymous. There is no Hebrew word for 'Jesus' - period - the name/word never occurred in the language. Making it out that the name Joshua equates to the name Jesus is a judaizing invention for the purpose of denying the name of JESUS. They hate the name.
Taking the name Yeshu and adding the 'a' to the end making it 'Yeshua' makes zero difference. With or without the 'a' the meaning is the same it is the talmudic slur 'may his name be bkotted out forever'. Claiming the invented name 'Yeshua' is the actual correct name for Jesus is a lie and trickery to deceive the ignorant into saying it and using it and to deny the name of JESUS - Mt. 10:33.
The name JESUS cannot be changed. It was given by the angel of the LORD coming from before the throne of God himself. And note the all caps Mt. 1:21 - signifying it's importance and not to mess with it.
