The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics logo was done using Chinesee calligraphy. The top of the design above the center ribbons is a speed skater, below the center ribbons is a skier - according to the Beijing Olympics.
Says the design is abstract. Interestingly enough, the more it is viewed, the more it begins to look very much like another calligraphy design altogether - an abstract i.e. cryptic calligraphy design for the word 'Zion':
Saw this very thing before - back in 2012 at the London Olympics summer games:
Not calligraphy like the 2022 design above, but again, just a little rearranging and the 'Zion' in the 2012 logo is/was undeniable [post: 8-6-12]
