He added that "the United States stands with you and for your human rights." Organisers estimate the roughly 25,000 athletes, spectators and volunteers at the Gay Games will pump about $50 million (€37.28 million) into the local economy. Athletes will compete in a wide variety of events, including a marathon, softball, volleyball, darts, bowling, cheering, figure skating and more.
