California faces new-found tsunami risk
[5-31-15] A newly-identified fault zone off the coast of Southern California could spell tsunami disaster for Los Angeles and San Diego, researchers have warned. While the region is already known for its earthquake instability, further perils could come from the sea according to a recent exploration of underwater fault lines: if active, the geological fractures could lead to 7.9 to 8.0 earthquakes, sending huge and destructive waves crashing to shore.
The study, released last week in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, used high-resolution mapping of two active transpressional fault zones each in the California Continental Borderland.
In short, the North American tectonic plate and the Pacific tectonic plate are butting up against each other, forcing some areas to shift up. Simultaneously, the movements apply greater pressure to other fault lines, increasing the potential of earthquakes there, too.
"We know in the recent past, probably in the last few hundred years, there have been large magnitude 7-plus earthquakes on these offshore faults," Mark Legg, geologist at Legg Geophysical and lead author of the study, told CBS. "So, we should not be surprised if we have another one."
"There is no need to panic and worry but you should be prepared now that we know there is a local tsunami potential," he advised Southern Californian residents.

New study? Another one? And they have discovered a 'previously unknown' fault-zone where some areas of the "North American tectonic plate and the Pacific tectonic plate are butting up against each other, forcing some areas to shift up" - which is, according to the "new study", creating an imminent tsunami risk for major cities in California? Amazing thing these 'new studies'. Other recent 'new studies' found the same type of city-destroying tsunami-threat for the East Coast, Hawaii, and Great Britain [see below]. With the West Coast now added to that list, the 'city-destroying tsunami threat' is now pretty much planet wide - according to the NWO science department. And while on the subject of new studies, it is interesting to note how it was that a 60yr-long mystery surrounding the historic 1946 Pacific-wide-tsunami was 'solved' a few years back also by a 'new study' [see #5 below]. Commenting further on this new 'California threat' would be redundant though as what is now being said about the claimed California tsunami-threat is not substantially different than what has already been said about every other area, so, these are linked below:

Scientists Warn Of "Extreme Tsunami" That Could Devastate O'ahu, HI; And 'Tsunami Bombs' 12-20-13 "According to their statement, they "have found evidence" that this area in the Aleutian Islands has the potential of producing a "strong earthquake" that 'theoretically' could trigger a tsunami that would devastate the island of O'ahu in Hawaii, wiping out Waikiki and destroying the island's main power plant in the process. That is certainly a very interesting 'discovery'. No doubt theoretically that is one way an "extreme tsunami" could be generated, but it is not the only way. Another way would be by the use of proven technology to create a "tsunami-bomb"..." [see post]
3. More Tsunami Hype: Britain Warned Of 'Mega Tsunami' From Canary Islands 1-6-14 "The Canary Islands are in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Western Africa near Western Sahara and Morocco. As the story goes, a some-day-in-the-future volcanic eruption will split the island causing a large piece to slide into the sea generating tsunamic global destruction on a scale never before seen...Just wondering - how hard would it be to geoengineer "part of a mountain...falling into the sea"...and after effects? -- Two things. One: The Canary Islands 'global destruction threat' should be viewed as a permanent thing. Two: The new-world-order will never be completed until the old-world-order is completely destroyed. Geoengineered Tsunamis, 'Storm Surges'? 1999 Rescue Heroes Cartoon Demonstrates A 'Tsunami Bomb' 12-27-12 ""Strange how tsunamis are becoming, and in fact have already become more commonplace than ever before in recorded history. Might even be a cause to wonder if tsunamis and/or 'storm surges' can be 'geoengineered'? Well, oddly enough, a popular children's cartoon show from 1999/2000 that is currently being re-aired just so happens to demonstrate the 'geoengineering' of a tsunami. -- '"According to the New Zealand government's declassified Project Seal report (referenced article linked in post) 'geoengineered' tsunamis are more than feasible, and have in fact been successfully created...The investigations lead to the conclusion that offensive inundation is possible under favourable circumstances. The leading theory has been that the earthquake triggered an underwater landslide, generating a one-two punch...But a seafloor-mapping project by Scripps Institution of Oceanography, designed specifically to look for the cause of the tsunami, didn't find evidence to support that theory -- In 2004 the cause of the tsunami had still never been explained...Turns out that...a new research paper the following year [2005]...a "reassessment" of the seismological data [produced] 'new findings' which basically claim to settle the issue...Apparently, doing this just required a rewriting of all the original data" [see post]
