The outfit, as many Twitter users have pointed out, bears a striking similarity to a dress Mia Farrow wears in the classic 1968 horror film Rosemary’s Baby. In the movie, Farrow’s character famously gives birth to the anti-Christ, making some superstitious fans try out some wicked punchlines on social media.

The language in Hawaii’s bill, reports KHON-TV (Honolulu), is rather broad and far-reaching:

“[The Bill] Prohibits teachers and persons who are licensed to provide professional counseling from engaging in or advertising sexual orientation change efforts on students and persons under eighteen years of age.”

Representative Della Au Belatti, who helped introduce the bill back in January, said that Hawaii’s LGBTQ youth need to know that their government has their back.

War On Alpha Male Next Level: University Of Texas New Program Labels Masculinity A 'Mental Health' Problem

University of Texas to Treat Masculinity as a 'Mental Health' Issue

The Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Texas at Austin recently launched a new program to help male students “take control over their gender identity and develop a healthy sense of masculinity.”

Treating masculinity as if it were a mental health crisis, “MasculinUT” is organized by the school’s counseling staff and most recently organized a poster series encouraging students to develop a “healthy model of masculinity.”

The program is predicated on a critique of so-called “restrictive masculinity.” Men, the program argues, suffer when they are told to “act like a man” or when they are encouraged to fulfill traditional gender roles...

The school is in the process of hiring a “healthy masculinities coordinator” to run the program...

While many schools now have similar programs, this appears to be the first run directly out of a Counseling and Mental Health Center. Though the school seems to justify this by claiming that masculinity can cause men to lash out at other people and themselves, the school did not respond to a request for comment to clarify.

"Net Neutrality" Officially Killed By ZWO Monday 4-23-18: Slow, Insidious Change To Internet Expected Say 'Experts'

Net Neutrality is Over Monday [4-23-18], But Experts Say ISPs Will Wait... [Before Making Slow and Insidious Changes]

[excerpted] Parts of the Federal Communication Commission’s repeal of net neutrality is slated to take effect on April 23...However, many experts believe there won’t be immediate changes come Monday, but that ISPs will wait until users aren’t paying attention to make their move.

In December, the Republican-led FCC repealed net neutrality protections..[and]..did away with rules that inhibited ISPs from slowing down access or prioritizing their own content... According to a copy of the order published in the Federal Register, the rollback can kick off 60 days after publication, or April 23.

“Don’t expect any changes right out of the gate,” Dary Merckens, CTO of Gunner Technology, tells Inverse. Merckens specializes in JavaScript development for government and business... “It would be a PR nightmare for ISPs if they introduced sweeping changes immediately after the repeal of net neutrality,” he says.

“They’ll wait six months to a year to be safe before unleashing sweeping changes to avoid major blowback, even though most people won’t care after a week so,” he says. At that point, internet users could expect to see blocked or slowed content, price hikes, and a host of new issues, Merckens says.

While parts of the FCC’s new plan will go into effect on Monday, the majority of the order still doesn’t have a date for when it will be official. Specific rules that modify data collection requirements still have to be approved...and the earliest that can happen is on April 27. Tech experts and consumer policy advocates don’t expect changes to happen right away, as ISPs will likely avoid any large-scale changes in order to convince policymakers that the net neutrality repeal was no big deal after all.

“They know Congress and internet users will be watching closely, so they have every reason to make sure this creeps in slowly,” Josh Tabish from Fight for our Future tells Inverse...“Widespread use of practices like paid prioritization and website blocking will be slow and insidious,” Tabish says.

Even if the internet still works on Monday, the protective measures that kept it free and open are gone. It’s now up to the internet users to watch for future abuses. [full article at link]

The message of the gospel is foolishness and folly? The message that "The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us" [John 1:14]; the message "that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" [1Cor. 15:3-4]; the message that it is only by the blood of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary that God can forgive sin and man receive redemption [John 19:17; Eph. 1:7]? Composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741 over a brief 24-day period (260 pages), the correct title is simply "Messiah". It is an oratorio. Acclaimed through the centuries as the greatest musical composition ever written, the term 'inspired' has often been suggested in attempting to describe the work. Whether that be the case or not, certainly no greater subject matter were ever possible than that of this 'oratorio'. Hawaii Governor Signs Assisted Suicide Bill

Legalization of physician-assisted suicide will take effect Jan. 2019

A bill called the Our Care, Our Choice Act was first introduced to Hawaii's lawmakers on January 24. The legislation sought to make it legal for terminally ill patients with an estimated six months or less to live to request fatal prescriptions from their physician.

It passed through the state's two houses and came to the governor's desk at the end of March. Hawaii's Gov. David Ige signed the measure into law on Thursday. Ige said at the signing, "It is time for terminally ill, mentally competent Hawaii residents who are suffering to make their own end-of-life choices with dignity, grace and peace."

A slew of politicians and lobbyists were present in Ige's office when he signed the bill.*

Hawaii is now the sixth state to legalize assisted suicide, following in the footsteps of California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont and Washington. Assisted suicide is also legal in the District of Columbia.
