The powerful Frankfurt Group is behind the latest machinations in the eurozone crisis

THE new powerhouse of Europe is a group that few voters have heard of. At the G20 summit in Cannes, delegates could be seen wearing badges for the "Groupe de Francfort".

Weeks after its creation, the ad-hoc Frankfurt Group, known by its French acronym GdF, has been dubbed the "politburo" of the 17-nation eurozone.

Its most powerful members are Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and President Sarkozy of France, along with Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF. Also present are the chairmen of the Eurogroup finance ministers, the European Central Bank, the EU Finance Commissioner and the heads of the European Commission and European Council.

The group met four times during the Cannes summit, including once with President Obama. It also issued an ultimatum to Greece to get its house in order before it received another penny of bailout money, and cajoled Italy into submitting to IMF monitoring.

NWO Stepping Up USA Takedown: Alabama County Files 'Largest Ever Civic Bankruptcy'

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The biggest civic bankruptcy in American history could leave residents of Alabama's most populous county paying astronomical rates for public services performed by a skeleton crew of county workers. Or it could simply mean tightening the belt another few notches, depending how much of Jefferson County's $4.15 billion debt will have to be paid.

For now, much is uncertain for following the county's Chapter 9 filing on Wednesday. The full impact on its 658,000 resident's won't be clear until after a judge approves the move at a hearing next month and local officials negotiate a plan with creditors for adjusting its debts. The outlook among some officials was grim a day after the filing, while others defended the move.

In the short term, the filing will mean legal fees further sapping the coffers of a government that was already in the process of cutting hundreds of jobs and considering curtailing services.

Municipal bankruptcy filings elsewhere have also led to higher taxes, pension reductions for public workers and spending cuts on schools, roads and other infrastructure. .

"We are in uncharted territory. Nobody has ever done anything like this on this level," said Jefferson County Commissioner George Bowman, who opposed his four fellow commissioners in the vote.

Pennsylvania's capital city of Harrisburg recently sought bankruptcy protection under similar circumstances in a federal filing that listed about $458 million in creditors and claims.

11/11/11 Veterans challenging Obama on legitimacy, constitutionality: 'Time for talking has passed'...

Declaring that the "time for talking has passed," organizers of a peaceful rally scheduled for Veteran's Day in Washington are demanding the resignation of Barack Obama along with other members of his administration.

The rally is being assembled around the issues contained in a Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic, which sets out the goals of the organizing groups, which include the Veteran Defenders of America and its parent organization, The United States Patriots Union.

The events are scheduled to begin at the Washington Monument at 6 a.m. and continue at points around Washington, D.C., throughout the day. How many people are expected isn't being released, nor is the membership information for the "member-only" organizations.


"We have to start somewhere," said Timothy Harrington, cofounder of the Patriots Union. "We are hoping to show D.C. insiders that the people have had enough. That the time for talking has passed and the time for serious action to save this nation has arrived."

The declaration states, "No longer will we sit idly by and tolerate the utter destruction of our country, at the hands of anti-American elitists in Washington, D.C., who have mistaken the people's peaceful tolerance for acceptance of their ill-advised behaviors. The time for all good and decent Americans to stand together, in defense of the Constitution, the republic, freedom and liberty, has arrived. The rule of constitutional law must prevail. We call upon all who have taken an oath to protect and defend, to take appropriate measures now."

Demanded are resignations from Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, the Obama cabinet, staff and the unelected czars, as well Supreme Court justices given lifetime appointments by Obama and some members of Congress.

While individuals must "make the necessary provisions to secure and protect your families and neighborhoods in the event of economic instability and social chaos," they also need to be prepared for more.

"In the event that the current administration or its thug supporters attempt to use government or civilian force and violence to silence the people, as in the cases of Syria, Libya, Yemen, China's Tiananmen Square, the Bonus Army of 1932 in the United States, or the UK presently wrestling with black and Muslim violence, the people must be prepared to defend themselves against such tyrannical tactics. More technical details about the upcoming national EAS test are trickling out of the FCC.

For one thing, the commission is confirming that the test on Nov. 9 will last for about three minutes, something of an eternity in modern-day radio.

The FCC says that during the test, FEMA will originate a “live” Emergency Action Notification code to all EAS participants, including radio and TV stations, cable systems, Sirius XM, satellite TV providers and wireline video service providers. As part of the test, the public will be told the EAS has been activated for a national emergency, along with an audible notice that “this is a test.”

The commission and FEMA, along with stations and cable providers, are working on outreach efforts to inform the public to avoid panic about the test.

The bureau intends to provide more information before the test.

Homeland security talks to hotel guests

WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- The Department of Homeland Security is turning to television and public service announcements to urge U.S. hotel guests to fight terrorism, officials said.

Starting Tuesday, guests turning the television on in their rooms in Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and other hotels will see a welcome screen featuring a short PSA encouraging them to alert authorities if they notice something suspicious as they travel, USA Today reported.

Informing the "millions of guests that stay at hotels and motels each year is a significant step in engaging the full range of partners in our homeland security efforts," Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.

The PSAs will be seen in 5,400 hotels serviced by the television service LodgeNet.

North American leaders to hold summit after Asia-Pacific meeting

North American leaders will gather to discuss continental issues next month — their first such meeting in two years.

U.S. President Barack Obama will host Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Nov. 13.

The three leaders and other heads of Asia-Pacific nations already plan to gather early that week in Hawaii.

The White House said Friday the North American summit would build on co-operation between the three countries with a focus on competitiveness, the economy, security, energy and climate change.

Canada and the United States are on the verge of unfurling a recently completed deal on border and security issues — leading to speculation the announcement may come in Hawaii.

The “action plan” will outline initiatives for more early inspection of cargo, common identification of security threats, alignment of the food and auto industries, and easier passage across the border for frequent travellers, said sources who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been publicly announced.

Pope thanks Jews, atheists after interfaith meet

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI on Friday thanked Jews and atheist humanists after a council with world religious leaders in Assisi in a speech which abstained from any specific mention of Islam or other religions.

Though the pontiff thanked "all of the distinguished representatives of the world's religions," he reserved special mention for the Jewish people, "who are particularly close to us" as well as four atheists who attended.

He made no direct reference to the Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs and delegates of Taoism, Confucianism and African and American religions who had attended the interreligious talks in St. Francis' birthplace.

It was the first time atheists had taken part in the talks, and the pope said he was grateful "to those who represent people of good will who follow no religious tradition but are committed to the search for truth."

"They have been willing to share this pilgrimage with us as a sign of their desire to work together to build a better world," he said.

Pope to promote peace in talks with world religious leaders

VATICAN CITY, Oct 25 – Pope Benedict XVI has invited 300 religious leaders to a meeting in Assisi in Italy to repudiate “violence in the name of God” amid growing tensions fuelled by fundamentalists across the world.

The day of interreligious council, which will be held on Thursday in St. Francis of Assisi’s birthplace, is intended to be a “journey of reflection, dialogue and prayer for peace and justice in the world,” the Vatican said.

Over 50 Islamic representatives are expected to attend the talks from several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iran.

They will be joined by Rabbis, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, a Zoroastrian, a Bahai and representatives of Taoism and Confucianism as well as of other traditional religions from Africa and America.

For the first time, four atheists will also attend the meeting, which is traditionally organised so as not to coincide with the Muslim day of prayer on Friday, the Jewish one on Saturday or the Christian one on Sunday.

The meeting is being criticised by Catholic fundamentalists who are strongly against the idea of dialogue with other religions. French fundamentalist Regis de Cacqueray said 1,000 masses would be needed to be said in reparation.

“These issues oblige faithful people from different religions to look for common solutions,” he said.

A burning torch will be symbolically presented to the delegations in the hope that they will take the message back with them to their communities.

Joel Osteen Denies Christ - Says Mormonism Is Christian; Book Of Jude Comes Alive

Texas mega-church pastor Joel Osteen says he believes Mormons are Christians.

The statement came yesterday in Washington in response to a reporter's questions about politics. Osteen said he likes Texas Governor Rick Perry and prays for his candidacy in the GOP presidential candidate race. But Osteen said he also disagreed with a fellow Texas pastor -- Robert Jeffress -- who recently stated that Perry's political opponent, Mitt Romney, was "not a Christian" because he is a Mormon, and that Mormonism is a "cult."

In a video posted by The Washington Times Osteen states that while he did not know whether Mormonism is the "purest form of Christianity," he has heard Romney say that Jesus is the Son of God and is his Savior -- and that is one of the "core issues," the pastor concludes.

In the book of Jude the Word of God speaks of a time when apostate teachers would virtually 'overwhelm the system', so to speak, completely taking over the outward visible professing Christian church and utterly corrupting it. Many have suggested that as the Book of Jude is located right before the Book of Revelation in the canon of scripture that Jude is giving us the precise condition that we should expect to find immediately prior to the events described in the Revelation.

Joel Osteen is fulfilling Jude's prophecy. The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a "global public authority" and a "central world bank" to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises.

The 18-page document, entitled “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” declares global economics needs an “ethic of solidarity” among rich and poor nations.
It called for the establishment of "a supranational authority" with worldwide scope and "universal jurisdiction" to guide economic policies and decisions.

Such an authority should start with the United Nations as its reference point but later become independent and be endowed with the power to see to it that developed countries were not allowed to wield "excessive power over the weaker countries."

The document, which was being presented at a news conference later on Monday, acknowledged that such change would take years to put into place and was bound to encounter resistance.
