TORONTO, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The Fourth Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) major economies held a plenary session at the Metro Toronto Convention Center (MTCC) here on Sunday morning.

"Now as before we must work and act together," said Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, chair of the summit, in his brief opening remarks.

As the world's premier forum for international economic cooperation, the G20 needs to "begin to develop a framework for strong, sustainable and balanced growth that we promised the world in Pittsburgh," the United States at the previous summit, said Harper.

Senate 'Internet Kill Switch' Bill Moves Forward

A Senate committee on Thursday approved a cyber-security bill that has prompted concern about a presidential "Internet kill switch."

The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee unanimously approved the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010 (S. 3480). It now moves to the Senate floor for a full vote.

The bill is an over-arching cyber-security measure, which would, among other things, create an office of cyberspace policy within the White House, which would be led by a Senate-appointed director. It would also create a new center within the Homeland Security Department, which would implement cyber-security policies.

A provision that got the most attention, however, was one that gave the president the power to "authorize emergency measures to protect the nation's most critical infrastructure if a cyber vulnerability is being exploited or is about to be exploited."

Though the language is somewhat vague, this section was interpreted by many as giving the president an "Internet kill switch" that would effectively allow him to "turn off" the Web in an emergency.

This legislation would fundamentally reshape the way the federal government defends America's cyberspace. It takes a comprehensive, risk-based, and collaborative approach to addressing critical vulnerabilities in our own defenses. We believe our bill would go a long way toward improving the security of our government and private critical infrastructure, and therefore the security of the American people."

Rep. Jane Harman, a California Democrat, has introduced a House version of the bill, H.R. 5548, but it has not yet passed committee.

Scientists say powerful Katla is ‘close to failure’

LONDON - A second, much larger volcano in Iceland is showing signs that it may be about to erupt, scientists have warned.

Since the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused cancellations of thousands of flights in Europe because of a giant ash cloud, there has been much speculation about neighboring Katla.

An initial research paper by the University College of London Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction said: "Analysis of the seismic energy released around Katla over the last decade or so is interpreted as providing evidence of a rising ... intrusive magma body on the western flank of the volcano."

Icelandic President Ólafur Grímsson has warned governments around Europe that a significant eruption at the volcano is close. "We [Iceland] have prepared ... it is high time for European governments and airline authorities all over Europe and the world to start planning for the eventual Katla eruption," he said.

Washington (CNN) -- When the Obama administration unveils its National Security Strategy Thursday, it will be the first time a president explicitly recognizes the threat posed to the country by radicalized individuals at home.

"For the first time since 9/11, the NSS integrates homeland security and national security," according to highlights of the plan given to CNN by a senior administration official said.

The security strategy acts as a blueprint for how the White House intends to protect Americans. In the past, it has focused mostly on international threats. But National Security Adviser John Brennan explained Wednesday that a spate of terror-related plots in the United States recently prompted the Obama administration to include homegrown terrorism in the document.

Homegrown terrorism represents a new phase of the terrorist threat, officials said.

It calls for strong diplomatic efforts internationally and galvanizing "collective action to address the share global challenges of our time."

The strategy calls for updating "all of the tools of American power, and work with our allies and partners to do the same."

"These tools include those in the fields of defense, diplomatic, development, homeland security, the rule of law, intelligence, and strategic communications, as well as support the participation of the American people and private sector. We are working to strengthen each of these tools, but also to integrate them through coordinated planning and capacity building in key areas," the strategy said.

As the quote taken from the update link at the top states...the truth of what is happening here is worlds apart from the 'official explanation' of what is happening here. The official explanation, so to speak, is what the above article is for - 'it's all good'. Fourth, 'update and integrate' police state grid to 'protect' citizens, and fifth, tie that grid into a "collective" global system [fourth and fifth under construction]. Do Zionism and 'Horus' go together?

When two strange looking "all seeing eye of Horus" creatures are chosen as mascots for the London 2012 Olympics, and the official logo for the 2012 Olympics [see below] appears to be a thinly veiled announcement of the near completion of the Zionist goal of world domination, what are we to think? Or, is it pure coincidence that these things seem to be full of 'hidden' symbolism - which if the truth be told - is rather obvious in this case?

Take a look for yourself. With the London games a full two years away, the intention at this point is to simply draw attention to these very interesting curiosities. Undoubtedly this subject will come up again. With that just a few comments will be made at this time. Make of it what you will:

Also, the creepy-critter on the left is sporting the 2012 logo on his chest, and has a pyramid shape on his head with a "W" in the center which truly does look strangely similar to the dollar bill's all seeing eye/pyramid symbolism of the "novus ordo seclorum" [new order of the ages].

Senate Democrats Pass Bill Allowing Govt to Collect Addresses, ATM Records of Bank Customers

(CNSNews.com) – Senate Democrats united to pass a financial regulatory bill that allows the government to collect data on any person operating in financial markets at any level, including the collection of personal transaction records from local banks, including customers’ addresses and ATM receipts.

The bill, if it becomes law, will create the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection and empower it to “gather information and activities of persons operating in consumer financial markets,” including the names and addresses of account holders, ATM and other transaction records, and the amount of money kept in each customer’s account.

Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) said that Democrats who claim this new bureaucracy will protect consumers are misleading the public. “[T]he American people are being misled,” Shelby said on the Senate floor on Thursday night.

“The authors of this bill are telling them that this legislation has been drafted to address the recent financial crisis and that it will ‘tame’ Wall Street. I am afraid that they are going to be disappointed.”

Shelby slammed the new consumer bureaucracy, saying that it was meant not to protect consumers but to “manage” them by monitoring their behavior. “Mr. President, make no mistake, behind the veil of anti-Wall Street rhetoric is an unrelenting desire to manage every facet of commerce under the guise of consumer protection.

Police cameras to flood Manhattan to prevent attacks

NEW YORK — New York officials say they could stop attacks like the attempted Times Square car bomb by expanding a controversial surveillance system so sensitive that it will pick up even suspicious behavior.

But Saturday's failed terrorist bomb in the Times Square tourist hot spot has provided the authorities with a new argument for expanding a sometimes controversial security blanket of cameras, sensors and analytical software.

The high-tech system, modeled on the "ring of steel" in London's financial district, is already in service in lower Manhattan, where Wall Street and the World Trade Center reconstruction site are located.

Headquartered at 55 Broadway, the Lower Manhattan Security Initiative goes far beyond the traditional hodgepodge of police cameras, such as the 82 devices installed around Times Square.

Instead, an integrated system maintains an unblinking eye, not just watching, but constantly collecting license plate numbers and video of pedestrians and drivers, as well as detecting explosives and other weapons.

An important component of the program is coordination between the police network and private businesses' cameras, something that has not been established in Times Square, causing detectives significant extra work.

Also, a separate, but similar program called Operation Sentinel plans to log every vehicle entering Manhattan island by scanning their license plates and checking for radiation.

But while law enforcement officials tout a brave new world of security, rights groups fear a "big brother" presence violating fundamental privacy.
