"If you would not look back in declining times, be sure of this, that you do not run a share or a part in the vessel that God is about to destroy. Where my grief is, there is my finger; where my love is, there is my eye. If I have a share and a part in the vessel that God is about to destroy, I shall look after the vessel, what becomes thereof. Why now, Babylon, that art to be destroyed, Babylon is not to repent; Babylon that art to be destroyed, Babylon is not to be reformed. Wash dirt an hundred times, and you cannot make clean the dirt; Babylon is not to be reformed, but to be destroyed. Take heed therefore of running a part or a share in the boat or vessel that God hath laid out for destruction; for if you have a part and a share there, you will look back. But..."

In Luke 17, Jesus compares the evil end of the age to the "days of Noah" [sin of race-mixing] and "days of Lot" [sodomites.] Both of these are Bible examples of societies so evil they had passed the point of no return and God intervened to destroy the evildoers. Furthermore, Jesus compared His own return to the fire from heaven that destroyed Sodom.
Here is something else interesting... when you compare Luke 17 to its parallels in Matthew 24 and Mark 13... both Matthew and Mark refer to the "abomination that makes desolate" but not the "days of Lot"... while Luke 17 refers to the "days of Lot" but not the "abomination that makes desolate." DO YOU SEE IT ??!! God substituted the "days of Lot" in the Luke 17 parallel to identify the "abomination that makes desolate" in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 !!
