ReplyDeleteSee that the link you provided goes to an 'anti-Calvinist' article. What is 'Calvinism' anyway? Calvin wrote no scripture. On this subject the correct name for the doctrine in question is not 'Calvinism' it is 'election'. The doctrine of election. The doctrine of election is biblical. Giving it the name 'Calvinism' and then defining it by "TULIP" is just a way to attack the biblical truth of election, and to then actually distort it.
ReplyDeleteFor instance the 'T' in TULIP - total depravity. For one, the word "depravity" is not found in scripture. That is not the main issue though on this point. The main issue is not the 'total depravity of man' at all, but that, according to scripture, man is dead. Dead in sin and trespasses [Eph. 2:1]. Big difference between depraved and dead. So, the 'T' in the Calvinist TULIP is incorrect i.e. actually a false doctrine.
Another one - the 'L' - for "limited atonement". Limited atonement? Which view of the only two choices - election or free will - actually teaches it. Answer is that election does not teach limited atonement at all, but that 'free will' teaches exactly that.
On this suggest listening carefully to this audio/vid - well worth the time [about 22 min.]:
Limited Atonement - Election Does Not Teach It Free Will Does; Rolfe Barnard 1960's [Audio - Classic Sermon]
Election is scripture, not Calvinism.

ReplyDeleteA lot of circular reasoning in those two articles (going in circles makes a person dizzy).
ReplyDeleteElection - Here is how it works:
When you were born into this world by your mother and father did you have anything to do with it? - no
Neither does a person when they are 'born of God' or 'born again'.
Every person 'in Adam' is dead in trespasses and sin - Eph. 2:1.
A dead person can not 'respond' to anything - dead means dead.
A dead person can not even "just believe".
Like Lazarus - 4 days dead [John 11:14] - until the Lord Jesus called him by name and said "come forth" - John 11:43.
Made alive and called (in that order) - by the Word of God - then and only then did dead Lazarus respond.
All of God.
This is the picture.
No salvation is possible unless and until the dead person is first made alive i.e. "quickened" by the Holy Ghost:
'And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins' - Eph. 2:1
Those that the Holy Ghost quickens are those whom He has chosen "in him" (Christ) before the foundation of the world - Eph. 1:4.
These he makes alive and then calls them
It is called 'election'.
The fact that many do not like (unbelief) the 'doctrine of election' does not change anything. The Word of God teaches 'election'.
That is just how it is - Rom. 9:21
Give glory to God...
------------
Another problem with those articles - notice the use of the NASB. Brings up this topic, which is of critical import. One can never come to the truth other than by the Holy Ghost. Westcott-Hort pseudo bibles, like the Not-A-Solid-Bible (NASB) have not the Holy Ghost; see vid [3 min.]:
If You Do Not Have The KJV You Do Not Have The Holy Ghost

ReplyDeleteThe NASB is so corrupt that it even changes the one verse that incriminates the makers of it for the very thing - 2 Corinthians 2:17
ReplyDeleteThe Word of God reads: "For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God..."
The corrupted 'word of (corrupt) men' (NASB) has it: "For we are not like many, peddling the word of God..."
Makes sense they have to change that one...
Rev18.4
Your argument has no merit. Even old literal translations translated that word differently, and it all means the same thing (which includes corrupting, peddling for money, using for personal benefit, altering the word in any way, etc)... but you believe whatever you want.
ReplyDelete(NASB) For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.
(KJV) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
(NKJV) For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.
(MKJV) For we are not as many, hawking the Word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.
(ESV) For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
(AMP) For we are not like many, [acting like merchants] peddling God's word [shortchanging and adulterating God's message]; but from pure [uncompromised] motives, as [commissioned and sent] from God, we speak [His message] in Christ in the sight of God.
(AMPC) For we are not, like so many, [like hucksters making a trade of] peddling God's Word [shortchanging and adulterating the divine message]; but like [men] of sincerity and the purest motive, as [commissioned and sent] by God, we speak [His message] in Christ (the Messiah), in the [very] sight and presence of God.
(NLT) You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God is watching us.
(NIV) Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
(RSV) For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
(NRSV) For we are not peddlers of God's word like so many; but in Christ we speak as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God and standing in his presence.
(LITV) For we are not as the many, peddling the Word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God. We speak in Christ, in the sight of God.
(YLT) for we are not as the many, adulterating the word of God, but as of sincerity—but as of God; in the presence of God, in Christ we do speak.

kapēleúō; fut. kapēleúsō, from kápēlos (n.f.), a retailer, huckster. To treat as if for personal profit, a profiteer. Used only in 2Co 2:17 translated "corrupt," i.e., corrupting God's Word for personal gain. See Rom 16:17-18; 2Pe 2:3. It means to profiteer from God's Word, to preach for money or to profess faith for personal gain.
The kápēlos may also be derived from kápē (n.f.), food, nutriment, from káptō (n.f.), to eat; a huckster or petty retail trader, contrasted with émporos (G1713), merchant (Mat 13:45; Rev 18:3, Rev 18:11, Rev 18:15, Rev 18:23), who sells his wares wholesale.
And let's not forget the KJV "unicorns"...you know, gosh golly gee, I just haven't seen many of those running around, have you? I've love to have on as a pet.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.christiancourier.com/articles/880-what-are-the-unicorns-and-satyrs-mentioned-in-the-bible
And let’s drive a nail in this ‘’kjv only: false teaching once for all time:
ReplyDeleteWhich “1611 KJV” is the inerrant one?
a) the one that rolled off the presses in 1611 calling Ruth a “he”? Or
b) the 1613 version which corrected that error (among others)?
Or
c) the 1762 KJV which fixed HUNDREDS of printing errors and misspellings? Among other things or
d) the 1769 which corrected even more errors?
See:
And further, your argument claims that the splendid work Tyndale did in his prior translation (which he died for) as well as the Geneva translation used by the Pilgrims was all just rubbish and junk then (in your mind)? All of those just worthless and corrupt until somehow magically the king James committee fixed everything 100% perfectly, without error, or printing errors? Do you see how untenable your argument is?
If the 1611 KJV was inerrant it would have had to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, and therefore without even a single jot or tittle out of place, not even a single printing error or misspelled word! So do your readers a huge favor and stop with this ridiculous false teaching.
I want my unicorn!
And lastly, the argument that those who don’t use the “1611 KJV” translation will be doomed to hell is absolutely preposterous. Do you really mean to argue that every single Christian that lived prior, including the apostles themselves, and the reformers!! (Luther, Tyndale, Matthe3s and thousands of others) are eternally lost simply because they didn’t just happen to have the “1611 kjv” bible to read? All the martyrs who were burned at the stake was all for nothing because again they just didn’t happen to live after the year 1611 and have that specific translation to read?
ReplyDeleteI hope you post all this so your own readers can decide for themselves. Nonetheless, I’ve told you.
I’m done refuting your nonsense on this. Teach whatever you like, the decision is yours. Beware James 3:1.
First thing...not making any argument here. Just laying out things that are true. He that hath ears let him hear...
ReplyDeleteNext, why worry about satyrs and unicorns. Isaiah 34 describes a post-apocalpyse scene inhabited by them - Isaiah 34:4-7,8-10, 14. Want to go there and see what a satyr looks like? Careful what you ask for.

re: "and it all means the same thing"
No, it does not. The words 'corrupt' and 'peddle' are two entirely different words with entirely different meanings - regardless of how many definitions 'of the Greek' can be manufactured. Need to at least be honest about that. It says peddle, not corrupt. We know what peddle means, it does not mean corrupt.
Bible rule #1: you do not get to change words and/or meanings whenever deemed necessary to make a verse mean something that it does not say.
But, word-changers change words - that's what they do. The WHO (Westcott-Hort Only) gang are specialists at this.
And yes every so-called modern version changes the word 'corrupt' in this verse... but not because it is right, but because they are all corrupt.
Every single one of them. They are all Westcott-Hort/Nestle Aland text based - all from the same source - the corrupt Vaticanus and corrupt Sinaiticus. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit.
Authorized Version KJV stands alone. Reality is the rest only exist because they have been created by the Word-Changers in the attempt to corrupt it i.e. destroy it (the KJV) - but do note - they have failed miserably after literally hundreds of tries, and be sure to note also, more than 400 years of trying. Can you say 'futile'.
Use any of them ESV NASB NKJV AMP etc. at your own peril. He that ears... and you know the rest.
--------------------------------
Lastly, you're just spinning your wheels here - no reason to keep trying to peddle your wares ... 'free will' is unscriptural [Rom. 9:20-21] and Westcott-Horts are not real bibles. Those are facts not an argument.
He that hath ears...
AV
Lol...funny stuff. I’m done here.
ReplyDeleteKJV 'editions' with spelling changes, puncuation, etc. - with 1611 printing methods - that truthfully is the best the WHO-gang can ever come up with. And, it's weak as it gets. All these things have been easily answered many times over. Rather than write it out here - here is a link to an known article that does just that very well:
ReplyDeleteThe King James Version of 1611 - The Myth of Early Revisions by David F.Reagan
------------------------------------
And what about before 1611? - just another weak and worthless and useless objection of the WHO-ites
Before 1611 - The LORD according to his own purposes worked through a succession of English (the universal language) versions (including Tyndale) - all good - according to his own working:
'The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever" PSALMS 12:6-7'
"Concerning the words being purified "seven times," it is interesting to observe that the King James Version is the seventh major English translation. The six translations before it were:
1. Wyclif's Bible (1382),
2. Coverdale's Bible (1535, using Tyndale's New Testament from 1525),
3. Matthew's Bible (1537),
4. The Great Bible (1539),
5. The Geneva Bible (1560),
6. The Bishop's Bible (1568)
Each of these Bibles was ... a valuable translation, but the King James of 1611 is the purest — the seventh and final purification. It has completely replaced all six of its predecessors." (T. Morton) - Rev18.4 link
--------------------------
Note: Not a single one of those six bibles came from the Westcott-Hort Alexandrian [Egypt (Egypt - biblical type of the world)] text type. They are a straight line coming from what is now called the Received Text - commonly referred to also as the Antiochian (Antioch - Acts 11:26]
Here now is a testimony - give up your futile fight against the Word of God and convert to the KJV - it is living the others are dead. Deader then dead. That is the reality.
It will change your life.

Perhaps John MacArthur "took" the mark of the beast long ago as he preaches apostasy within the ranks of religion.
ReplyDeleteWhen a born again believer follows man instead of Jesus Christ, the One and Only Good Shepherd, this is the "mark" of evil.
Jesus Christ is the originator of our faith, and the original Scripts of Scriptures prove and reprove it, with no human name attached to the original writ.
Martha
"King James" was not a Christian according to Jesus' Ways. King "James" wrote no original Scriptures either, and we must remember this
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
The original verse from Christ Jesus Himself, is the only original Script that provides us faith and Hope in Him.
A person by the name of "king James" has never provided the faith and Hope that I need to survive in this world. Perhaps wicked men of old and new have altered Jesus' Word to accommodate their sinful lusts!
Martha
ReplyDeleteMartha,
The Lord Jesus Christ himself answered this to the Devil when being tempted by him 40 days [Matt. 4:1]:
'But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God'
"Every word". The whole bible we need - according to Christ Jesus the Lord himself. Genesis to Revelation. Study to shew thyself approved unto God - 2Tim. 2:15.
Anybody thinks they can do it without 'study' of the Word, learning the bible, etc. - i.e. "just walk with Jesus" and they're good - that sort of thing
...this person is deceived - John 8:31
they will go astray...down a path of their own imagination. [Ps. 119:105]
BTW - No original copies of any orignal writings or 'Script' exist. Long ago dissolved into dust. God wrote his word, God can keep his word, he promised he would, and has done so, in one bible only.
The Authorized Version - aka KJV is the only bible that has every word. Every other one is missing literally tens of thousands of words - some more than 50,000 link - this blog
The name 'King James Version' is not an issue at all. No he did not write scripture - what he did was authorize the work to accomplish it, which was much - a seven year project. These were the days of kings and popes - with popes always trying to repress the Word of God. King James came along and said 'do it'.
Objection to the 'King James Bible' because of the name is simply not a valid reason.
'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
(1) for doctrine,
(2) for reproof,
(3) for correction,
(4) for instruction in righteousness' 2 Tim. 3:16
Need every word...
I do agree about one thing, tom. Until the Lord calls your name, and you respond in His favor, you're dead.
ReplyDeleteBreaking: Australian Army Begins Transferring Contacts of COVID-19 Positive Cases to Quarantine Camps

Global Research, November 24, 2021
The Expose 22 November 2021
In an appalling breach of human rights, 38 indigenous Australians in the Northern Territory have been hauled into quarantine camps by the army.
The Australian army has begun forcibly removing residents in the Northern Territories to the Howard Springs quarantine camp located in Darwin after nine new Covid-19 cases were identified in the community of Binjari. The move comes after hard lockdowns were instituted in the communities of both Binjari and nearby Rockhole on Saturday night.
Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner announced today that the “Residents of Binjari and Rockhole no longer have the five reasons to leave their homes,.” The five allowable reasons to avoid lockdown that he referred to are buying food and supplies, exercising for up to two hours, care or caregiving, work, or education. It is a case of if it can’t be done from home, and to get vaccinated at the nearest possible location.
