Do the Demented Have a Duty to Die? By Ken Connor
(excerpts)
A waste. A burden. That is how influential medical ethics expert Baroness Warnock views people suffering from dementia. Lady Warnock, a prominent adviser to the British government, told the Church of Scotland's Life and Work magazine that people suffering from dementia should be allowed to kill themselves rather than continue to burden their families and Britain's National Health Service.
She maintains that people should be allowed to give advance notice to a third party that they wish to be killed when they reach a set point of mental deterioration. And she wants to expand this "advance directive" to include just about any situation where a person believes their life is no longer worth living. Her ultimate goal is to license people to "put others down." "Put them down"—like a sick dog. At least she's frank.
The weak are the first to suffer when a society embraces a "quality of life" standard as the measure for human worth. The truth is that the strong and the rich in society are the true beneficiaries of euthanasia. Their responsibility to care for the sick and infirm is lifted when euthanasia is encouraged. One honest British commentator admits as much: "We in Britain, and across the industrial West, have an aging population. The old are living longer, and the young are breeding later and less. This presents a simple resource-management issue... We are heading for a situation where we're deciding between care for the elderly and education of the young; and in which the quality of life of a family caring for a grandparent or great-grandparent in an advanced state of senility can be significantly impaired, perhaps over decades."
The "quality of life" rhetoric of the euthanasia movement is the same rhetoric that the Nazis embraced when they embarked on a policy of killing and sterilizing the mentally or physically handicapped. Genocide of the "defective" became the means of removing the "waste" from society. This same mindset was present in the sterilization of the mentally handicapped in the U.S. in the early 1900s. These historical examples show the end result of "quality of life" thinking.

see: 'Euthanasia' Alive and Well in CA? (quote): "The 'plans' are being followed. Coming down the well worn path of achieving the end goal by incremental change through subtle variations of language along with professional endorsements, the Brave New World eugenicists are attempting to once again push back the boundary lines of decency and of the sanctity of human life. "Total sedation" becomes the ridiculous euphemism for putting someone to death, and is then marketed as an acceptable if not desirable medical technique through the "contemporary" professional journals and various affiliated organizations."

The "expert" in Great Britain is fulfilling her role, as described in the quote above. She is the advance guard, plowing the field and attempting to "push back the boundaries". She wants to license people to "put others down".

The state of California, as of 10-2-08, is making her wish come true and is in fact now licensing these very "quality of life" determiner-people. Little 'Terminators' that is. "We are heading for a situation", to quote from the posted article, and the trail is being blazed by the government of California and by so-called experts like the one in the UK. This eugenics agenda is an issue dealing with global management, i.e. control of the world's populations for the future societies. It is, to quote again from the posted article: "a resource management issue". That global system is to be efficient and streamlined with "waste eliminated". As to the mindset behind this agenda, see the 'Euthanasia' link above, the information is there.
The Euthanasia advance guard is marching...be informed. This is a very real part of the global agenda and it is what the future will look like until the Lord Jesus Christ returns to 'put them down'.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Psalms 2:9-10
Re: euthanasia
ReplyDeleteLast time I looked....proper managing of human resources was this:
"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth"
Matt 5:5
Our Lord said that; and I believe Him!
He also commanded (and I do believe that to command is far more than a suggestion):
"That ye love one another as I have loved you" John 15:12
That means if one were to be eliminating "useless eaters"
(old, infirm or retarded) to make some space on this "getting greener" planet of ours, most likely that person might spend the rest of eternity in hell.
It's late. Our Lord will be here soon and the end is mighty near.
All this is the crazy talking and crazy thinking of a lost world.
None of us mortals can make this sinful dying planet alive of our own doing....except to accept our lost, sinful state and lay our lives down for Christ our Savior.
He lives! Without Him we're dead.
