The Food Chain
Shortages Threaten Farmers’ Key Tool: Fertilizer: source
Published: April 30, 2008
"Some kinds of fertilizer have nearly tripled in price in the last year, keeping farmers from buying all they need. That is one of many factors contributing to a rise in food prices that, according to the United Nations’ World Food Program, threatens to push tens of millions of poor people into malnutrition."
"Protests over high food prices have erupted across the developing world, and the stability of governments from Senegal to the Philippines is threatened."
"In India, the cost of subsidizing fertilizer for farmers has soared, leading to political dispute. And in Africa, plans to stave off hunger by increasing crop yields are suddenly in jeopardy."
"Some dealers in the Midwest ran out of fertilizer last fall, and they continue to restrict sales this spring because of a limited supply."
"Manufacturers are scrambling to increase supply. At least 50 plants to make nitrogen fertilizer are under construction, many in the Middle East where natural gas is abundant, and phosphorous and potassium mines are being expanded. But these projects are expensive and time-consuming, and supplies are expected to remain tight for years."
“Without chemical fertilizer, forget it. The game is over.”

re: stability of governments from Senegal to the Philippines is threatened
In case anybody is wondering, there will be no quick easy solution to the brand new appearing out of nowhere sudden "global food crisis" i.e. rice/wheat/grain shortage. And just to be sure, we now have a second and related brand new appearing out of nowhere sudden global fertilizer shortage to compound the difficulties significantly...and the fertilizer supplies are expected to remain "tight for years", we are being told.
And there is still another 'huge related problem' that must be considered, which most certainly will compound things to an even much greater degree. Not only are the crops in short supply, and the fertilizer is in short supply, but how will the 'few crops' that are even able to be fertilized be watered, because all the way from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon comes the news that the earth is running out of water!

Anybody buying this?
With this confluence of urgent sudden global crises, and the "stability of governments at stake", it can only mean one thing....."macro solutions" for "macro problems " i.e. authoritarian global government.
The transitioning the world into global government "game" is high stakes, and is being played for keeps.
