Big Brother Stripping Parental Authority Worldwide: France Outlaws 'Spanking'; And CA SB18

France Just Banned Spanking, Becoming the 52nd Country to Do So

France has become the 52nd country to prohibit spanking children, marking a new milestone in Europe's effort to ban corporal punishment in schools and homes.

France joins countries like Iceland, Israel, Sweden, Greece, Brazil and Argentina, all of which have prohibited the disciplinary practice. The law, known in France as the Equality and Citizenship Bill*, was passed on December 22, Marta Santos Pais, the Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) on Violence against Children, said in a statement [see below*].

Offenders of the new law, however, will not face criminal charges, meaning that the Equality and Citizenship Bill is a symbolic piece of legislation. For child protection groups, though, this doesn't mean the law is invalid. Instead, they claim, it is a critical step away from an antiquated disciplinary practice that has, according to study after study, proved to do more harm than good.

But spanking isn't the only element of the bill. All forms of violence, "physical, verbal and psychological," have been prohibited as well, meaning that taunting and humiliating kids are officially on the outs.

*Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) on Violence against Children:

On Thursday, 22 December, a final vote was taken on Article 68 of the “Egalité et Citoyenneté” (Equality and Citizenship) bill, which states that the exercise of parental authority must exclude "any cruel, degrading or humiliating treatment, including corporal punishment".

“The adoption of this new legislation marks a very important commitment towards the protection from violence of more than 14 million children living in France. Ending cruel, degrading or humiliating treatment is an indispensable component of a comprehensive national strategy for the prevention and elimination of violence against children. It lays the foundation for a culture of respect for children‘s rights; safeguards children’s dignity and physical integrity; and encourages positive discipline and education of children through non-violent means.” said SRSG Santos Pais.

The adopted text aims to support parents and caregivers in their child rearing responsibilities to raise children with appropriate care, support and without violence.

In 1979, Sweden was the first country to explicitly prohibit corporal punishment and humiliating treatment of children. Since then over 50 countries around the world have adopted a ban on all forms of violence against children.

Note the wording in the above statement. It is very specific: (1) "parental authority must exclude"; (2) "commitment towards the protection"; (3) "lays the foundation"; (4) "children's rights"

Symbolic or not, the end goal of the now 52-country movement is very clear, as revealed by the wording of this 'SRSG' statement: The 'State' is delegating to itself authority over and above that of parents over their own children. Setting exclusions on parent's rights, elevating "children's right's" above those of parents, declaring the 'State' as the responsible party for children's protection - which in this instance means 'protection' from their parents...this is the stuff of full-blown Big Brother totalitarianism.

Owning people as property - this is the end goal of 'globalism'. In the USA, the State of California has set this same Orwellian so-called 'children's right's' movement in motion. This was the subject of this recent post:

CA Senate Bill 18 To Transfer Parental Authority To State i.e. Private Corporate Entities; ZWO Drucker Trump Plan Now 12-17-16 "...this new one, SB18, is a grab-bag of generalities basically giving over care of children to the State... that program is part of a technocratic movement to plan, format, and run the lives of the population from cradle to grave...This is the big picture, and it’s bigger than any election or political party. It’s THE PLANNED SOCIETY... [and] ..."The Brave New World fast materializing before our eyes is not about 'money' so much as it is about a global empire. What is 'money' if you already own the entire world? This reality was not lost on the late Peter Drucker, the so-called 'father of modern management', so-called that because he is the actual architect of the "global-management" system being used to create the 'global empire'. Drucker's premise was that the wealth of the future would not be measured by gold, silver, or especially paper fiat money, but by what he called "knowledge workers"...What is a 'knowledge worker? Well to put it into the simplest and most blunt terms, a 'knowledge worker' is a slave. [and] - Ultimately, globalism, in the final practical outworking, will come down to two things. Those two things are communitarianism, and privatization...Privatization of everything. Especially the children...the future measure of wealth. [see post, follow links, connect dots]

Parents rights stripped, children assigned so-called rights by the 'State', the 'State' supreme over all. It couldn't be any more transparent. Be informed they have no plan 'b'.  Rev. 18:4

I thought the following news article (Dallas News / Dallas Morning News) was very interesting as I read it right after I read this commentary on Big Brother and Parental Authority.

A San Antonio-area pastor is pleading for help to find his missing 14-year-old daughter who he said ran away Monday night.

"She's threatened to do this due to some of the disciplinary actions that have been taken due to her inappropriate behavior activity on the internet and with her phone and just some other inappropriate behavior," he said.

Lindow (the pastor and father of the run away daughter) didn't detail the behavior or punishment. (I thought this sentence was rather odd as if the info could possibly be used against the parent as being the problem.)

Note to anon above - seem to be having an issue with some comments going straight into the spam box for some unknown reason. This happened to this comment. Normally any comment would have to be marked as spam by blog-moderator before it could get in there. Since that is how it is supposed to work there really is no reason to ever check it so if a comment did somehow get in there by itself it's going to be unnoticed. Found your's today basically on a random check. Need to check it more often looks like...
