Japan To Have Tourists Use Fingerprints Instead Of Cash, Credit Cards, Passports - Collect Info At Airport

Fingerprints to be tested as ‘currency’

"To prevent crime" foreign tourists to be 'prodded'* to hand over their credit card numbers and
fingerprints to the Japanese government upon arrival at the airport - Japan News 4-9-16
Starting this summer, the government will test a system in which foreign tourists will be able to verify their identities and buy things at stores using only their fingerprints.

The government hopes to increase the number of foreign tourists by using the system to prevent crime and relieve users from the necessity of carrying cash or credit cards. It aims to realize the system by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The experiment will have inbound tourists register their fingerprints and other data, such as credit card information, at airports and elsewhere.

The Inns and Hotels Law requires foreign tourists to show their passports when they check into ryokan inns or hotels. The government plans to substitute fingerprint authentication for that requirement.

A total of 300 souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels and other establishments will participate in the experiment. They are located in areas that are popular among foreign tourists such as Hakone, Kamakura, Yugawara in Kanagawa Prefecture, and Atami in Shizuoka Prefecture.

It hopes to realize the system throughout the country, including Tokyo, by 2020.

Welcome to Japan tourists - as you exit the plane please do have your credit card information ready and prepare to be fingerprinted. It is for your own safety of course you do understand. We wouldn't want any 'bad guys' to steal your money or credit cards or passport while you are visiting us here in Japan so the Japanese government will be happy to look after those things for you. And as for all the Big Data we collect on each of you while you are here, that will just be utilized to better the overall experience for future tourists [see above image] so nothing at all to be concerned about. Do step up to the booth now won't you - arigato.

Nothing to carry - not even a passport - is the goal outlined here. Bio-ID i.e. fingerprints for starters, where it goes from there down the road some - well how-a bout a chip anybody? Throughout the country by 2020 says the Japanese government.

Cash in hand is autonomy and freedom - the lack of the same is the opposite of autonomy and freedom. Much of the world already functions apart from cash, nevertheless the option is still there. Hence the agenda to do away with cash. Transitioning countries and ultimately the world to a completely digital economy gives absolute control of everything and everybody to the would-be digit-masters of the dark netherworld. As most know, the move to make this a reality is fully underway in every country on the planet. Japan though is now pushing it that much further. Take note.

*Compare: Japan Launching Orwellian 'All-Purpose' ID Card Called "My Number" October 2015 9-21-15 "666 or bust, the would-be masters-of-the-universe are giving it all they've got to get their 'human-cattle' planetary management system up and running -- Tax ID, drivers license, health insurance, credit and other bank cards, passport, company ID #, shopping discount card, and who knows what else...all rolled up into one...and government controlled. And police can access it all at will. Names no longer necessary...just "your number". This is Japan. You don't have to be Japanese though. Residents foreign or national to be assigned their #'s beginning next month October, program officially begins January 2016. Anybody in Japan will be officially numberized from there on out. First phase makes it mandatory for certain government matters, everything else to be phased-in "in the coming years".
