HBO Version Of "Left Behind" Coming To The 'Smallscreen' June 15, 2014: "The Leftovers"

"Left Behind" comes to the 'smallscreen'. Hollywood pushing the rapture theme lately like there's no tomorrow, but this is a first: a new HBO television series called "The Leftovers":

Wiki: "The Leftovers is an upcoming American television drama series created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta set to air on HBO. It is based on Perrotta's novel of the same name...The Leftovers takes place in the wake of a global "Rapture"—which may or may not be the Biblical rapture—and centers on the people who didn’t make the cut, and are left behind in a suburban community. It will premiere on HBO on June 15, 2014"

The basic theme:

"Lost writer and producer Damon Lindelof...to adapt Tom Perrotta’s 2011 novel The Leftovers for HBO...Perrotta’s novel concerns a small town dealing with the aftermath of a Rapture-like event known as the Sudden Departure, which saw people from all over the globe vanish in an instant. The main story revolves around the town’s Mayor, Kevin Garvey, and his attempt to help his community – which saw 100 people disappear in the event – as his own family deteriorates around him. Garvey’s wife has taken up with a cult known as the Guilty Remnant and his son is now following a self-proclaimed prophet going by the name Holy Wayne. Only, his daughter remains with Kevin, but the event has left her changed, too.

The basic principle may be similar to the Left Behind series, but here, the idea isn’t leading to an eventual showdown between good and evil. Instead, The Leftovers is concerned with exploring the ramifications, and seemingly unanswerable questions of what the event actually was and how regular people are expected to carry on with their lives.

Lindelof says of The Leftovers:

“You can’t be an atheist anymore. It takes us back in time to a place in human history where everyone’s lives were dictated by the gods of Olympus or the gods of the heavens.""

A new Hollywood edu-tainment mind-twister via the writer/producer of the severely-twisted LOST television series, Lindleof. What to do if you are a 'leftover'? It's not really about the biblical rapture, at least probably not say the producers - maybe it is, maybe it's not, in our TV show nobody knows see, besides that's silly anyway isn't it, or maybe the alien theme gets some exploring, who knows where they take it, there are few details at this point; but however the psycho-twisting goes, it is about spiritual themes, you see, because, according to Lindleof, "You can't be an atheist anymore", so if you don't make the cut then maybe you better figure out why and then decide to worship the gods of the heavens or the gods of Olympus - which translated means worship the fallen angels...or...the fallen angels. Funny thing, sounds like more Talmudic-Kabbalism, just like the recent "religious epic" movie Noah.  Rev. 18:4
